Perth Cancelled

Very disappointing to receive notification of cancellation 8hrs before the Perth Australia show, which has been sold out for months. "Unforeseen circumstances" hours before a gig is really not good enough, particularly with people travelling for the concert. Pissed off is one way to describe the situation.

Who is Ryan? I only know Jake and Damon.

mbr.
The photographer of the last Central entry and he had a shooting wit M and the band in New York last month. Seems to be a long time fan. I don't think that he's the new boyfriend and the "My love..." was meant for Tokyo. He got credited though so he clearly must be in favour with Morrissey

Come on, guys, the rate of cancellation on this tour is absolutely ridiculous and seem to happen on a whim. With no explanation and everything it seems like he only is nitpicking, whether he likes the place or maybe where the first row applauding squad can get to the best. That's very much just rude and shows he really doesn't care, whatever the real reason may be.
Leaving fans with a constant fear and uncertainty if he will show up or not without any communication is what a very toxic relationship is made of.

as usual people on here jumping to conclusions, how would anyone on here know that he didnt want to fly to perth,if someone would like to explain this i would be delighted to hear it.
it is a boot in the baws for anyone who was going,i would rather he just retired as he has plenty of cash and the recording industry wont offer him a deal anytime soon, the days of being true to yourself are gone just ask john cleese and graham linehan.

No one would need to jump to conclusions if he or his management actually told people what has happened like most other artists do, example -

We sincerely regretted the cancellation of our performance at Agua Caliente Casino on the 17th. This difficult decision had been made on the advice of medical professionals due to an illness within the band. We understand the disappointment this caused and assure you that we are actively working on the logistics for a rescheduled show. An official announcement, including details about ticket refunds, will be provided in the near future. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this challenging time. Cancelling a show is the last thing Echo & The Bunnymen ever want to do.

It does seem like we may be getting near to the end of the line, doesn't it? No record deal looking likely, a seeming refusal to self-release his music, and increasing cancellations...
Yes, it does seem that we're getting close to the end... It's a sad way to end it all, but I guess that it will actually be a relief for many of us...

you say no one should jump to conclusions but on here they really cant help themselves.

I just wish that people stopped raising my hopes that an accident has happened to a guitarist. Of the Dingo ate my Jesse variety.

Eight hours before? What a c.u.n.t move.

If he doesn't go through with the rest of the Australian tour I highly doubt we'll see him here again. If there is a next time I won't be buying any tickets until five minutes before lights on. The anticipation of seeing Morrissey over this way is so rare that I think this recent Perth cancellation and possibly more dates here cancelled will kill what vibe we have for Morrissey concerts in Australia. I'm about as hardcore an Australian fan as you can get and I'm really struggling to get excited now.

Onward and upward as they say.

A few here really think, morrissey-solo should be there to always give a collective "Get well soon to whoever. So sad...but we love you". Marianne flew all the way to Perth. Let's see how understanding she is.

Confirmed via a contact at Perth Concert Hall, got to Singapore and then decided he wanted some more time off to rest so got on a flight to Melbourne instead of Perth. Apparently not even even a hint that he wouldn't show so has caused quite a bit of grief for the venue.
Sounds like we have the same contact as that’s what I was told.

Tho i agree Gordy, i just wish that with these cancellations there were just a few words from Morrissey himself just explaining why, whether its logistics, illness or whatever. Fans go to great lengths arranging, spending hard earned cash planning for these shows, even if its on your doorstep in Nottingham, or far away like Perth. It would take the sting out of it all, slightly.
As Surface said about the Bunnymen, a few words saying how shit they feel about it would help.
Morrissey has always said very honestly he only does what he wants to do, not the fans, just himself, be it setlists, tours etc, but it would help calm any bad feelings slightly.
Baz has been saying lately on here hes done with it, due to the Nottingham cancellation with no explanation.
If there had of been one i don't think he would be so angry about it.
And with no explanation of course people think whatever they like, which is usually worse than the reality
I dunno, its just sad, maybe he does need to lay off the touring.

Absolutely gutted is an understatement. I couldn't believe my luck when I heard a few months back that The Mozfather was gracing us here in Perth. I splashed out, bought two tix, and saved a little merch kitty as I had planned on buying ALL of the merch  on the presumption that this may very well be the last time I get to see the great songsmith.
I'm not one for stirring the pot and I don't buy into "My uncles cousins barbers dogwalker overheard a muffled conversation in a toilet cubicle in Singapore" kind of hearsay so I hope the great man is healthy and well and there is nothing serious at play but.... you can't argue with the cancellation track record which doesn't look good. And the non explanation does leave a sour taste in the mouth.

My inconvenience is only slight compared to those who had booked flights and accommodation etc so I wish all of those fans a speedy recovery in getting over their disappointment, and I hope the fans across the rest of Australia get their big night out.

Is it wishful thinking to dream of a rescheduled date ??

He decided he didn’t want to board the flight from Singapore to Perth and has decided to fly directly to Melbourne. I don’t know why he didn’t take the direct Tokyo Perth flight on Thursday.

This is the correct answer.

Also, BOOYAH!

Agree - to give no personal explanation to his fans, other than a generic message that could be generated by a computer, is poor form. Simple as.

Very glad I didn’t get tickets to either Sydney shows.
