Political posters in New York

Yeah he's already started with compliments a while ago and hAs been quoting sanders Atacks on Clinton not long Ago but I think Hillary knows this but also realizes she will need his supporters as well. Sanders I think will give in to the pressure and start attacking trump. He also has to go back to congress and despite what he calls himself he will need to raise money with democrats again like he has in the past and the Democratic Party is getting fed up with quickly. He doesn't want to burn to many bridges unless he's ready to loos his seat in a primAry challenge. I think at some point he really thought he could win the nomination and is just bitter at this point. Every time he looses it because of this or because of that. Poor people don't vote, democratic voters In The south are to conservative. Not very classy and it sounds like he's trying to sooth that ego. He only won the west v.a primAry because one out of four people polled in exit polling said they were republican or intended to vote for trump. There pArties nominTion is locked up so they can go skrew with the dems nomination process since it's an open primAry but he uses It as further proof that he has a path

No, Derek, you were queried specifically about your claim that gay people get thrown off roofs in Pakistan. But instead of just admitting your error, you posted a totally unnecessary and graphic link showing it happening in ISIS-controlled Syria. Which, obviously, is not the same thing.

YOU conflated Pakistan with that. Quote me.

And this is exactly how Trump will win. His only chance is to gather Sander's supporters into his camp. He may be many things but he is not an idiot. He recognizes this and I bet you will see many olive branches extended in the coming months.

Trump is not going to be able to eat very far into Sanders' vote. The section of the Venn diagram that will support a self-described socialist one minute then drop everything and run with arms outstretched to a right-wing populist the next, even if it might have a few people in it, is not going to be very big, no matter what sort of tactical genius you believe Trump to be.

I don't think Hillary fully realizes how important this will play out and it just might cost her the election. It is a close race and no matter what the pundits or the intelligentsia might say it will come down to the American voter for better or worse. Trump knows this. He is shrewd and is excellent on capitalizing on others weaknesses...you know...a real politician.

I think Bernie's best hope is to run as an independent.

Run, Bernie, run!

The powers that be sounds kinda like a paranoid conspiracy theory. Do you mean the voters decided because clintons got like three million more votes in the popular vote as well as having more delegates. At one point sanders had more money to spend but still didn't win. No one said he was responsible for the mastermind like for what his supporters do but he's sure as not condemning it either while he goes on to call many others selfish and horrible. He sure didn't condem his delegates in Nevada when they threw chairs and yelled threats. Calamine you're getting as bad as Derek with dodging and selective points you care to mention. You criticize the organization writing the last article I posted but won't read a piece from Newsweek and refute it with a YouTube video.mits hard to take you seriously and yeah you might be joking or a troll but it's serious here and to me as who wins this election will have an effect on millions of children trying to eat and get educated parents trying to keep there families safe
I'm not dodging. You just got confused. Hopefully we've cleared that up.

To underestimate would also be a mistake though. Every step of the way he out maneuvered a lot of experienced tactical campaigners with a lot of money as well. He didn't do that by accident and not be tactical nor are his voters poor and stupid and simply racist. He's some what gotten as far as he has by mixing in a lot of democratic populist positions. What makes you think Bernie voters wouldn't let there economic trouble, in there minds, trump there culture positions and vote for him over Clinton. I don't think they all will but if he keeps going the way he is he could possibBly do enough damage with his silly extreme rhetoric that some could or simply sit out the election all together

Well Derek, that is quite a lofty dream. It brought me back to memories of good old Ross Perot. Maybe you could remind me how that worked out for him? ;)

They just ran the Preakness yesterday and there seems to be quite the connection between horse racing and the republican primary election this year. Trump started off in a field of about eighteen and would probably been given odds of 200:1. As the long shot he outdistanced the field. Who really can say what will happen in the general election? We elected and re-elected an actor for president. I don't think electing a businessman in a tough economy is that far stretched an idea. Politics aside of course.

There's also just no getting around the fact that when the Republican Party had control of the house the senate and the White House the average American suffered under they leadership and ideas of never ending tax cuts and cutting social spending while launching one military conflict after another while economic inequality grew and grew and that every republican candidate that ran other than trump wanted a continuation of these policies. From Katrina to Iraq to the Great Recession to gun violence running rampant to health care running amuck to citizens untied etc and etc. Under Obama care, Or the Aca, the number of uninsured Americans has hit a record low and there party officials still wants people to vote for them so that they can repeal it. Only twenty two percent of people wanted it gone with nothing in its place. No wonder Obamas approval ratings are over fifty percent and that's just based on what he was able to accomplish through executive action as they running congress opposed anything he ever suggests just on the principal of opposing him. That's a big part of why they Lost. Trump realized this sentiment and strategically took his opportunity and beat them all. Also Preakness sucks as I live in Baltimore where it's held. Bunch of drunk morons mostly looking for a reason to drink and be obnoxious not to mention that I just hate horse racing. Two died one from cardiovascular issues as he was probably pumped full of god knows what and one broke his leg so he was put down. Not my thing

Based on your writing I think it's ironic that you are defending education, if you want to make this into a personal exchange.
Back to the point, the media always treated Sanders like they treat any outsider, and we are ALWAYS given the line that we should vote for the lesser of two evils. You know what sounds like a conspiracy theory but is actually true is that Hillary uses noise machines outside her speeches to her Wall Street buddies so the press can't record what she is saying.

I don't have to read your opinion piece when I can listen to her own words. That's what the video is. It's just her talking. The problem is she contradicts herself. A lot.

We're not really having a conversation if you don't wanna read or hear anything I've posted. Why should I watch your video when you won't read a piece. Why then even continue the exchange. Also why the irony. Just because I don't feel a need to use proper grammar are you assuming I'm uneducated. Presumptions often, wrong much. Yes i think so.

Also when I posted Bernie answering questions in his own words you had nothing to say. I know you had to read something as it wasn't a video but like I said as bad as Derek with the dodging. I replied to points made when you posted the first video, why won't you look at or address anything you don't wanna hear

I think it's ironic that you advocate for education while presenting yourself as contemptuous of the accepted standards of the language you're attempting to communicate with. If you need further explanation, maybe you're just stupid. lol

Not only are you a special snowflake who can't be bothered with grammar and punctuation, but you also seem to think I have time to figure out which anonymous posts are yours and respond to each and every one. btw, I actually hate that term, "special snowflake," but I realize now it has come into popular usage to describe people like you.

I don't really care if you watch the video. I understand that not watching it makes it easier for you. Hillary is a habitual liar and the proof is right there.

I have never dodged any of your queries.

Sure sure. The goal of language is to communicate an idea and i succeed at that despite what you claim are accepted rules of language. In what way does not using capitals prevent someone from getting the idea I'm communicating. Also if you don't wanna diffentiate between anions why bother, trying, to communicate with them. Also when did I say Hillary was totally honest. I'd say point it out but since you can't you'll probably just respond that your not going to bother to do so etc. also she's competent and intelligent articulate and effective. Her ideas are realistic while his wont pass the house or the senate and just waste tons of money and time. At best he's a symbolic candidate with symbolic ideas. He can't even explain how he'll implement his own policy proposals or how they'll work when given the chance to do so in his own words. He's incompetent at policy and campaigning. Hillaries also not a whiner like Bernie and his supports. Can't win an election either by the popular vote or the pledged delegate count and he and they blame everyone else but himself. His ideas also do nothing but promote factionalism and partisanship not that any would pass really except a small few. If elected like trump he'd throw out a bunch of crowd pleasing promises that he'd have to take back once in office. Oh you hate super delegates and think they shouldn't be part of the process. Oh until you need the you mean and never mind that he himself is a super delegate for the Democratic Party. Why doesn't he renounce that position and refuse to be part of the crooked process he sometimes bashes. Oh that's right because he's gonna use that position to vote for himself. I'm sure that since you won't engage in any points you'll either just use the to long didn't read reply or simply say which anon are you. Funny you can't be bothered to use the standard accepted way to distinguish. Selective standards I guess. At least mine stance is pragmatically based and one used to just be difficult and childish

Also Derek when I posted the piece about Hillary and Bernie you replied that oh to dislike Hillary is to be sexist and I asked what you thought about all the other points made and you didn't reply I'm guess as you couldn't come up with anything to respond with. Just one example

Thoughts on why sanders didn't win the black vote from the root. Even has a stop me if you've... Bit in it that reminded me of the morrissey song

© Ethan Miller/Getty Images Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont jokes around as he speaks during a campaign rally at Bonanza High School in Las Vegas on Feb. 14, 2016.

Bernie Sanders has no reason to be angry. He’s done more to raise his profile in the last 18 months than he’s done in over 30 years in the House and Senate. He’s managed to drag the Democratic Party left after years of centrist posturing by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. He’s raised millions and galvanized millions more. However, he and his supporters still complain that the primary system is rigged and the Democratic Party isn’t treating them fairly.

It was the belief that the Democratic establishment is out to get Sanders that led to the violence and disruptions at the Nevada State Democratic Party Convention last week. This attitude is also the main reason Sanders has failed to consistently resonate with African-American voters. Black folks have always known that the system is rigged—what they want is someone to change it, not just complain about it.

Objectively speaking, there is a great deal to like about Sanders’ political positions, regardless of your party affiliation. Who isn’t in favor of taking money out of the hands of big business and putting it back into the pockets of consumers? Who isn’t in favor of making Washington, D.C., more accountable to voters? You may quibble with how Sanders proposes to accomplish his goals, or whether he can actually achieve them, but the goals themselves are pretty party-neutral, which is befitting a lifelong independent senator (more on that later).

Despite a strong message about economic inequality, Sanders has never managed to be competitive with African-American Democrats in primary states. Many have argued ad nauseam about why the Sanders campaign has struggled with black voters, and the arguments generally fall into two equally simplistic and nominally insulting categories: 1) Black folks are foolishly loyal to the Clintons in some form of electoral Stockholm syndrome; or 2) Black folks don’t ultimately know what’s best for them and don’t know Sanders well enough to realize that he’s the best choice.

I’ve avoided stepping into this fray because not only are both arguments faulty, but neither one in any way reflects the black Democrats and independents I know. The real reason Sanders has failed to connect with many mainline African-American Democrats is what happened at the Nevada convention May 14. Sanders and his surrogates represent a discomfiting liberal white privilege that has always made African-American voters feel ill at ease, even when ultimate goals are in sync.

Stop me if you’ve had this experience before: You are driving downtown on a Friday night with one of your white friends in the passenger seat. Suddenly, those all-too-familiar red and blue lights start to flash behind you and you’re pulled over. The police officer plays cops’ favorite game, which is to ask a lot of perfectly legal, but thoroughly insulting and inconvenient, questions in search of a post hoc rationalization for pulling you over to begin with.

While you try to calmly navigate the situation, your white friend is going ballistic now that real, live, actual racism is happening in front of him or her. Which hits you with two simultaneous feelings: first, that it’s nice your friend has your back; and second, annoyance that it took a routine example of racial discrimination for your friend to finally realize your daily reality. And your friend’s reaction, while sincere, is way out of proportion to the offense. If anything, it reflects a sort of alienating privilege. In a nutshell, Sanders is your white friend in the car.

Of course the Democratic primary system is rigged, Bernie Sanders. What else is new? Party systems have always been rigged—ask any African-American candidate over the last 100 years. Sanders is angry because the Democratic Party put debates on weekends to help Clinton? How about when the Republicans handcuffed Alan Keyes to keep him out of the Atlanta debates in 1996?

Sanders is angry because the Democratic National Committee state bosses are in the tank for Clinton? In 2008, then-Sen. Obama had to start his own national organization, Obama for America, because he knew that party leaders wanted Clinton. At no point did you see supporters of Obama or Keyes or half a dozen other black candidates throw chairs or make death threats because they were losing.

The problem with Sanders and his supporters goes even deeper, though. Sanders just became a Democrat about 15 minutes ago so that he could run for the party nomination. For almost 40 years he’s been a proud independent, remember? Legally and structurally, the Democratic Party has every right to make things difficult for a relative outsider to snag the nomination.

When Sanders complains that the Democratic primary is rigged against an independent candidate, he sounds like a white sorority complaining that they lost the step show on points because this year’s theme was “Dark and Lovely.” It takes a lot of gall to show up with a membership card so new the ink is wet and start complaining about the process. Now that same sorority is tearing up the gym, throwing chairs and threatening to go all the way to the Pan-Hellenic Council if they don’t get their way. Just because you lost something doesn’t mean it was stolen—unless you’re dipped in the kind of privilege that tells you something is owed to you to begin with.

African-American Democrats have every right not to like Hillary Clinton, who wore her white privilege like a ski mask in 2008 and whose policy history leaves a lot to be desired. But that doesn’t make the self-righteous complaining of Sanders any easier to stomach. Yes, Sanders has been a freedom fighter for progressive causes for decades, but when it comes to the Democratic primary, he and his supporters have been consummate whiners reeking of privilege.

You want to talk about a rigged system? Look at Shirley Chisholm, Keyes, the Rev. Jesse Jackson or, even better, ask Democratic state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal of Missouri, Republican Lenny McAllister in Pennsylvania, or dozens of other African-American Democrats and Republicans who are actual long-term party members who were betrayed in their primaries. If Sanders wants to be a part of the system, he has to find a way to beat it, then take it apart from the inside—not start halfway, then begin flipping chairs when the numbers aren’t adding up in his favor. Protest appeals to black voters, revolution appeals to black voters, but whining doesn’t. It has not always been clear that the Sanders campaign knows the difference.

Some might just be able to read faster than you but hey look another video about nothing. Surprise ear-mark
