Besides Moz and The Smiths, what have you all been listening to lately?

Re: Obscure indie again!

Our kid used to work with one of the Bridewell Taxis.

Putney?? You're an up market Mozzite then mate!! I understand very classy ladies in that area.. Anyway, check out John Otway playing the Half Moon on 20th Dec. He's a laugh.

Beths Electric Birthday? I have no idea what they're (she's) like.. but I'd be interested in your top Northern Soul song list..

Re: Sun Day

Oh Ruff I don't live in Putney, I just whizz through it on my bicycle most days, but count the Half Moon as the only venue near me that has a reputation. I don't count P.A's by the likes of the Sugababes at 'The Works' as venues. I don't know about classy ladies, but you do see many a 'rowing-type' in lycra shorts trotting along the Thames. I imagine they are kind of upper class if they have time to go sculling on the river.

I did see John Ottway once. I gave 'im a headbutt! And, and, and I saw his mate "Wild Willy Barrett" in concert too. Don't ask me why he's called Wild Willy though, or how I came to be there....

Will think about that Northern Soul list, though I really don't have anything extremely rare, and nothing that's not on a CD.

My Jealous God

It was suggested to me a while back that MJG would be a good fit for my Birdpoo site (URL before). I don't have any of their records, but if you (Bluenose & Ruffian) can help out with the discography / scans, I'll consider putting them on the site.

Re: My Jealous God

I should be able to scan the a few sleeves in for you, if that's what you want.

Interesting site, BTW. Ludicrous Lollipops and the Edsel Auctioneer - eh, it's like listening to Peelie in my bedroom in Birmingham all over again.

Yes please! Scans of sleeves, record details (label / catalogue no), that sort of thing would be triff.

Re: My Jealous God

OK, I may not get chance to do it until the weekend. Do you want me to post them here or e-mail them somewhere?
