Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and....? Bill Murray? Who's the third guy?

and of course 'I'm not a man'
Sorry to be off topic, but does anyone have the guitar tabs to the ending of the song "I bury the living"? You know the part where he sings:
"Funny how the war goes on Without our John, without our John".
To me this is a really great Jessie Tobias guitar track. The chords are easy, but I can't figure out the riff. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, that just shows how 'deep' the World Peace album really was, that the excellent B-sides never made it to the LP. It's a great Morrissey record, one of his best, and the band was terrific on it.
I guess I need to give it another listen, unfortunately it's not even on Spotify. WTF?

Paper it means giving away cheap/free tickets sometimes using an agency - they call it papering the house.

Weather it means just accept that sales are bad, play the gigs & hope the people who are there enjoy it & tell others that it didn't deserve to be empty. It's usual to have a meeting to discuss what went wrong & what to do about it.
Here are a few ideas as to what's gone wrong:
  • Overall public opinion of Morrissey is not high right now, for reasons we all know and we won't get into the validity of those now. Just take a look at any post about him, official or otherwise, on social media - 80% of the comments are negative. They range from "he's a right-wing racist" to "I'm done with him" to "he's not going to show up" to everything in between.
  • The choice of venue is an odd one. Location-wise, it's a trek for locals and out-of-towners alike. It's also a venue that seems to book a lot of very eclectic world music acts, but not a lot of traditional rock/pop/indie. So, the venue may be unfamiliar to many people likely to buy a Morrissey ticket.
  • Ticket prices were pretty high at first (I paid them), which may have put off those on the fence.
  • 4 nights, two of which being mid-week, was probably a bit of a stretch from the get-go, at a venue this size (~3,300).

Anyone else having the issue of trying to pick a specific seat? I bought two tickets in the 7th row together, and might have my partner's father tag along with us, and I want his seat near ours, but I can't seemingly see and choose the seats near us on ticketmaster, whereas I was able to before

Zoom in on the section in question with your mouse. It's working for me.

Yeah, it was pulled after only a few months of being released. If you can get a copy, you'll be thankful. Morrissey was headed in a new direction, and for me - it was welcome. I can't say enough good things about that LP. If more people were able to buy that album, it could've very well been regarded as a Morrissey classic.

That record came out a few weeks around my second child being born, and it was great to have that as my 'soundtrack' to a very busy, but overall very positive season of my life. When I first heard the B-Sides, a few months after getting the LP, I was very impressed.

I’m not sure why it gets hate. Istanbul is terrific. “Moonlight jumping through the trees, sunken eyes avoiding me” reminds me of when I got lost overseas, trying to find my way back home and with the light dwindling, becoming increasingly desperate to get to safety in a dangerous town. It takes me right back to the panic and loneliness I felt and is one of those classic Morrissey examples of hearing lyrics and thinking: “That!” That’s exactly how I feel/felt but have never been able to conjure the exact words to convey that.

Also, kiss me a lot is a banger.

Yeah, he certainly tells great stories, and - when at his best - speaks directly to your heart, intellect, and memories.

Maybe some people did not prefer the Latin musical style that Gustavo brought to the band/LP. Morrissey is an international artist after all, so I thought the change in musical direction for the World Peace LP made a huge difference in the quality of what we were hearing compared to his recent-previous albums at the time. And the lyrics from the World Peace era, like you mentioned, were steps above Ringleader and Refusal --- possibly because of how inspired Morrissey may have been because of the more dynamic music his band was bringing to him.

Opening act 2023 oct 7th Hollywood fl???

Can anyone please tell me if Morrissey has an opening act for the 2023 tour specifically the Hollywood Florida show on October seventh 2023

Can’t get any details on an opening act… Ty!

Well, by and large I don't rate Low In High School very highly, but I find the opening track one of the stronger ones. And we really don't need to hear I Wish You Lonely again, do we?

If only for one day.

He cancelled previous shows because he feels too cold ,and too old. He has also said he also cancelled because he felt he looked odd.

I love you Moz you are great and i love your songs, and I understand art but not life, sometimes words aren't enough to summerise life and everything inside it, thats what I feel

Ppl are too quick to say they love these days, but I think I know what you mean. Actually, I do remember reading on this forum that he cancelled the show early because he said he'looked odd' Thats quite different to feeling odd. I can't judge him about cancelling shows, he has dengue at the moment, prehaps that was a cover up - but anyways hope hes fit and well and can enjoy playing the shows around America!! Its going to be fab for scrubbers, I have tickets for NYC! Mid twenties and never been to a gig outside the UK... until now, hopefully.
