Last year in the US under Trump, 19 unarmed whites were killed by cops in the entire US, 9 blacks. In 2015 under Obama, nearly 40 unarmed blacks were killed, and nearly the same number of whites. Where were all the riots against Obama? Worse for blacks under Obama, but he talked the right talk, so got a free pass.

You can try to claim blacks are higher portion of all those killed by cops in proportion to their share of population, but you‘d have to conveniently leave out the fact that blacks also, despite being only 13% of the population, account for over 50% of all violent gun crimes, including murders.

But having a discussion about blacks being disproportionately
likely to commit violent crime (and thus be at risk of violent conflict with police in the first place), is one that the mainstream media won’t touch because it’s not PC enough, doesn’t fit the approved Narrative.

I agree that black people aren't treated with the respect they deserve. An old man was pushed to the ground by the police though. I'm waiting for the pensioners to come out in protest. It was police brutality against another person that happened to George Floyd. Irrespective of race or colour. It was a brutal act. But to point out that he was a black man says to me that people only see others by something as obvious as the colour of their skin. It says more about the people who take it upon themselves to identify something as obvious as the colour of someone's skin, to think that that was a motive for murder. We all have differing characteristics. It's not as straight forward as the colour of your skin. It could have been that that was the police officers motive, but to assume it was is dangerous and unhelpful. He'll face due justice now. But only for killing another human being. The fact that people point out his skin colour is neither here nor there. When good things happen to black people, do we make a point of saying that it must have been due to them being black? It could have been a gay person, a psychotic, an illiterate, an imbecile, all people who are different to you and I, who was brutally murdered, but those things aren't as easily identified as the colour of your skin. To assume it was because George was black is to immediately label him as black. When I watched someone being callously murdered the last thing on my mind was that they were black. It was that they were a human being.

What happened to George Floyd was barbaric. Police violence is absolutely the issue but it has been hijacked by those with an SJW agenda who want to portray all black people as victims. The victim complex has been a big part of black culture and politics - the use of the 'n word' in daily slang by black people is so interesting from a psychological point of view - and the murder of George Floyd has touched that button. There are obvious historical reasons for the victim complex, of course, not least the fact that it has always suited white culture to see black people as victims - look at Live Aid - but feeling like a victim is toxic for black people, just look at the crime and mental health statistics. Modern slavery is barely even talked about - it is estimated that between about 20 to 40 million people work in some form of human slavery right now - in the 21st century. Yet it is easier to pass over this and obsess about how guilty we should all feel for the Atlantic slave trade a couple of hundred years ago. Black migrants come to the West in their millions because it is what - a racist hell-hole? In pretty much every measure of inequality - both in the UK and the USA - white working class boys and men come out worse than any other group. Again, this is rarely talked about. Including the fact that white working class men are most likely to die at the hands of the police. Young black men are most likely to die at the hands of other young black men. Black lives will matter when they matter to young black men with a knife or a gun.
