An REM thread for r.e.m. stuff

Jason, I don´t have the Mexico show.
But at that time (in 2008) I was in contact with a guy, who filmed the whole show. I hope so much he will share it with us sometime.

Yes, and I´m so very very sad too.
I can not describe how I feel in moment.

Is there anyone willing to upload as many 2008 shows as possible for me? I've lost the cd's with the shows and would really love to have them back. Namely in this time when the band made us all sad by announcing their break-up. If there's somebody kind enough to post the shows, I'll be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, that's not Bodycount at Tyrone's. Ironically, it doesn't even have the song Bodycount on it. That's the cover, of course, but they've mislabeled it somehow.

From memory, besides the spoken parts I mentioned above, these are some of the songs I recall being on there (titles might not be perfect):

Bodycount
All the Right Friends/I Don't Want You Anymore
Rockville
Just a Touch
Scheherezade
Stepping Stone
Dangerous Times
Action
Narrator
Permanent Vacation
Hippy Hippy Shake
It's a Mystery to Me
A Girl Like You

So yeah, it's a really early one with a bunch of their abandoned songs. This is the only listenable song from it I've found online:

Thanks for the heads up though! I'l prolly grab it anyway....for science!

Well, here you go:
http://www.mediafire.com/#1077a88uidog3,1

Many thanks to my compatriot who (as well as I) was at that show and sent me the soundcheck via email. I'm just thinking how fortunate I was to see the band live. Never thought it would be the very last chance to see them play. Sad :(

Btw, if you ever find anyone who has a copy of the 1995 Prague show, please let me know. I've been looking for this show ever since I heard one of my friends saying it was the best show he'd ever attended.

Oh God, there's been some mistake. There should have been a folder with the songs, instead all you got was a blank page. Anyway, here come the individual songs:

OK what I've got are two very good quality Tyrone's shows.

One is in Mp3 and is from May 12, 1981. Excellent sound, not sure if it's soundboard but it sounds good enough to where it might be.

The second is in FLAC and is from September 23rd of the same tear. It is a rip of a double-disc soundboard-sourced bootleg. The files are numbered but not tagged, however the ripper/uploader who put this up on Demonoid (which I think is where I found it) included a text file of all of the show/rip info.

One big zip file.

Thanks man! These are great even if they're not what I'm looking for. The search continues! If I find them, I'll post them up here.

Edit: Hearing "Romance" live is a treat! "We just wrote it on Monday" :D

Edit 2: This version of Stumble just keeps getting crazier and crazier!

new r.e.m. single :) http://www.rollingstone.com/music/b...usive-why-r-e-m-are-calling-it-quits-20110926

"And we were excited to find three really good songs to put out as a farewell," he adds. Two of the new tracks, "Hallelujah" and "A Month of Saturdays," came from demos for R.E.M.'s last studio album, Collapse Into Now, released in March. The third song, a Sixties-flavored treat with sunshine-pop brass, is called, aptly, "We All Go Back to Where We Belong." It comes out as a single October 18th.
