I'm making playlists of what was played on Alternative/College radio in the US, as well as John Peel, and MTV's 120 Minutes year by year in the 20th century.
The 90s are available and almost done.
The 80s will be available sometime mid to late March.
One song per artist per year.
These will be my favorite song from each album, not necessarily the most popular.
Each year will probably end up being 12-18 hours in length.
Artists that were given the "Alternative" moniker to sell records because their record labels didn't know how to brand them will not be included. Like Sheryl Crow, Hootie and The Blowfish, etc.
There will end up being 3000+ artists from 1980-2000. A good amount of them have less than 1000 monthly listeners even though they were played on the radio and/or had an MTV music video. I will make best of playlists for these forgotten artists later on.
