Strange/unexpected Moz references?

Bradley Wiggins

It's all very strange. Those sorts of things don't happen to guys like me. My wife kept going on ecstatic that Queen had sent us a letter. I kept saying, 'F*** the Queen, Johnny Marr has sent me a text on Twitter.' But she said, 'It's the Queen.' I said, 'And this is Johnny Marr, Cath, come on'. I had a message from 'God', too, Robbie Fowler."

Re: Bradley Wiggins

Yeah f**k the Queen

Continuing the Wiggins theme... he was interviewed after his win today on Radio 5 Live and playing in the background was 'There is a light that never goes out'

This 'light' is the Olympic torch!!!!!! What a fantastic use of the song!

Re: Bradley Wiggins

Since the Olympics are going on and all, I thought this was an appropriate tweet from Sarah Silverman. :lbf:

Thanks, Giselle. Not bad!

Since the Edinburgh thread that started so well was closed after the routine juvenile defacing, I'll post a review here from The Skinny - http://www.theskinny.co.uk/music/live_reviews/302526-morrissey_usher_hall_30_july

Strange/unexpected Moz references

From the Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot, who did mini preview of Sunday's Lollapalooza bands.

Oberhofer:
Songwriter Brad Oberhofer thinks big, recording with producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Morrissey) and writing stadium-ready rock tunes.

I went, I saw, I liked.

Also saw a guy with a Smiths t-shirt on later in the day. I said, "Hey man, nice shirt."

That's all I got. Three days of walking and rocking at Lolla :guitar: I'm having a hard time braining today. :squiffy:

Re: Strange/unexpected Moz references

Some random person i follow on twitter-Oh morrisey, you've got it so wrong. Heaven knows you're miserable now. Let yourself enjoy other peoples achievements, and have a wank.

Re: Strange/unexpected Moz references

Fab.com founder Bradford Shellhammer decorates with Moz: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/20...OCATION.html?ref=greathomesanddestinations#13.

He's also got a bunch of those cool Swiss-modern music poster remakes (the Gay trifecta of Erasure, DM, Pet Shop Boys): http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/20...OCATION.html?ref=greathomesanddestinations#18

Interesting house. It failed when I noticed the books were organized by color and not subject. :p And the deer head. I love that Danish Modern furniture though.

Hey Corrissey! :flowers:

When my other Chi-town friend got the thunderstorm cancelled message he saved his pennies and didn't go. Glad to hear you had an awesome time! The Sigur Ros pics from the show looked amazing from the stage with the city in the background.

Re: Strange refs...

Why is he doing that?

my guess would be...he's a Smiths fan? He's legitimately from England, so

there's another English pro wrestler there called Wayne Barrett or something who is a big Manic Street Preachers fan, with some of the words to "Little Baby Nothing" tattooed on his arm. I guess the English take their musical preferences seriously
