Im actually really shocked at the positive responses, perhaps those that really liked this song replied most. I do like the song, but just never considered it a favorite. Hmmmm......here's 25 i like better (Im not sure it makes my top 35)....

I adore it. It has been (strangely enough?? ) the first song by Smiths that really strikes me. It's true: you can listen thousand times and never get bored. It's very brave, sarcastic, charming...The guitar intro is fantastic too. Anyway I don't know if it's the best Smiths song. I haven't got a precise list of my favourite tracks, but I think that other masterpieces are for example I Know It's Over, Bigmouth Strikes Again, What Difference Does It Make?,Nowhere Fast, Rubber Ring...

"Stop Me" is a great song however my impression of it is ruined forever since hearing that really strange voice singing along to it on a brief download earlier on the tour.

I'm quite emotionally scarred by hearing that, too.
