There's still time for a musical duet with William Shatner. Actually, maybe he should get The Shat to replace Miley's vocals on 'I Am Veronica'?

Shat is 90 something but looks and sounds 25 years younger.

There is a video on you tube of explorers walking round the abandoned Hook End Manor as it is now falling apart and they actually show the room where Moz is sitting with his Ouija board and there are now branches growing through the windows and that lovely wallpaper peeling off and if i remember rightly the chair on which he is sitting is still there. Oh the passage of time.
Love this list tho, he does enjoy writing his lists.

I love lists like this. I was a bit surprised by Pete Townsend, Paul Simon, Nico, and Marc Bolan. Never knew he met them. Had an idea that Paint a Vulgar picture was about Bolan but must have forgotten confirmation that they actually met. Funny that Kenny Lynch is on there.

I think Sandie Shaw (not in the list!) said that he became quite friendly with Robert Plant during the recording of Viva Hate?

Also notice that Christie Hynde (perhaps as she is too much of an actual mate?), Michael Stipe, Suggs, Pete Burns and Sparks fail to make the list…

Best central post in ages!

Some definite surprises on this. Mel Gibson? Pete Townshend is the standout revelation. I didn't know Morrissey had much interest in the Who, but maybe he just liked Townshend's persona when he met him.
The Union Jack + Morrissey wanted to cover "Can't explain" on a planned cover EP 1997. "Popa Jack" f.e. has lots of explosive Who trademarks. But is he really in need to list all of the famous people he has met to demonstrate his relevance? Poor (again).

I actually like this a lot : it's always interesting to see artists talk about other artists they admire... though I'm quite surprised about Mel Gibson being mentioned. Ever since The Passion of Christ, which I found completely tasteless, I couldn't help but dislike him...

But who knows, Morrissey is an enigmatic individual. Lou Reed and David Bowie being mentioned at the top of the list does bring a smile on my face :)

In no particular order? Guessing it is given Bolan is way down there 😅

Would’ve thought Vic Wood was higher up there.

Imagine if he’d put ‘Morrissey’ up on top.

I didn't initially see this as an attempt for Morrissey to demonstrate his own relevance by mentioning other famous names, but more so as a kind homage to people he's met over the years.

Though it is intriguing to see things in this light... perhaps I'm too naive ?

Joan Collins and Anthony Newley were not the happy couple they look in that photo - see about 30 minutes into this recent interview with Louis Theroux.

You are probably young and unspoilt.

Anyways I hate to be pedantic but you're nobody unless you've shook the furry paw of General Ursus from Planet Of The Apes (and lived to tell the tale). Ursus likes humans so long as they know their place so he and our Moz would get along well.

I met the Planet of the Apes - apes, at a circus in the 70's. Probably not the actual cast.
