Oh! What to buy Morrissey this Christmas!

is it porn ??:horny:

LOL :D - with that title it might as well be ;) but alas, no -it's a (believe it or not) vampire story -well, in fact it's much more than that. It's heartbreaking and terrifying, beautiful and disturbing at the same time. As a reviewer from the NY Times puts it:

The title of the spectrally beautiful Swedish vampire movie comes from a song by Morrissey, a romantic fatalist who would surely appreciate this darkly perverse love story

Several years ago, one Xmess, I gave him a gift package from Lush. He was all like, for me? Really? For me? For me? He shook the box, and our friend said, "I think there's a bomb in it" meaning those fizzy bath balls (called "bath bombs" back in the day), but Moz got this just-shat-my-keks look on his face. Oops. Since he never indicated that he enjoyed it, I never got him anything (majorly expensive) again after that.

Besides, my shabby little offerings can never compete with the likes of luxury watches or 1st edition Oscar Wilde texts. Even if I could afford those things, I would not want to make Moz feel uncomfortable or indebted by foisting such embarrassingly lavish gifts upon him. I would like to create something someday that would make him smile or even laugh uproariously as much as he has done for me.

Reprised from the LOL-Moz thread:
Whatever you do, just don't get him socks this time.

Many years ago, Morrissey bought his Dad a VW Golf convertable for Christmas. It got nicked.

His Dad (and Mrs Morrissey the 2nd) live not too far from me.

I didn't realise he liked his Dad that much. I always heard they didn't get along.

I think that when Morrissey was younger the relationship was difficult? Thats pretty well documented. I've seen his Dad at gigs, once with his Mum. The VW Golf story is 100% accurate though. He lives in Clifton (Salford) and it was nicked not long after he got it. That's Salford for you!!

My dad bought a VW Golf in the 80's. It didn't get stolen though. It was tiny and dark blue. Hatchback.

I didn't know that he had a step mom.

I believe Morrissey's father is very proud of his son.

Time will change people's mind / relationship as well.

Pity the car had been stolen, but he got another one I suppose.

A few weeks ago a work colleague told me that her husband knew Morrissey's Mum quite well. I was busy at the time (on-line frantically buying Morrissey tickets) so didn't talk to her until later on. She then told me that she had re-married. Naturally I was a bit confused by this, especially as this woman is a totally genuine and trustworthy person. A week later, when I returned to work after some leave, she came to me and told me that she had got it mixed up. Her husband is friendly with Morrissey's Dad's second wife. She told me about the car.

They've been married for quite a long time, so I'm told. I never knew either!

what's his dad and stepmum like?

I've never seen his "stepmum", but I'm told that she is nice. I've seen his Dad a few times though. Morrissey looks more and more like him, the older he gets. He is shorter than Morrissey, and carrys more weight. The last time I saw him he still had quite a decent head of hair as well.

I would love to meet him, not in a context of asking questions about Morrissey, just to see what he's like. Like witnessing a rare bird or something.
