Morrissey, famous for being the lead singer in popular 1980s band The Smiths, will be celebrated by one of Mexico's finest musical outfits, Mexrissey, at Warwick Arts Centre on April 30.
...Now, a band made in Mexico City are repaying the Manchester-born singer for all his great moments by recreating Morrissey's songs south of the border. Together, they sound like a brass and accordion led combo from a small village with a big heart.
The band comprises of Camilo Lara, the force inside Mexican Institute of Sound, who together with Sergio Mendoza (Orkesta Mendoza/Calexico), has put together a team of musical gunslingers from Mexico’s finest bands.
Mexrissey will perform on April 30 at Warwick Arts Centre, with tickets costing £16, or £14.50 for University of Warwick students .
