Is morrissey's next album going to be one song broken up into many tracks???

True it's early yet, and there have been dry periods before. I believe better songs could come, but I can't help feeling at the moment he's not trying. That ability to discern good/bad, and the self-respect that drives for quality are absent. Why?

Yes, the poetry is not there. That is what many of us fell in love with. The clean, sharp, phrases of the past are for the most part not present in his recent work.
One example I can think of that's recent of a song having poetry is "The Father Who Must Be Killed." Following are some examples, in my opinion, of crisp lyrics.

Stepchild, with every petty swipe
You just might find you're fighting for your life. . .

"Stepchild, I release you
With this broken voice I beseech you". . .

"Why are lives so short?"
The stepchild thought
heart pointing to the sky
"No warm to warm me
No hand to touch me
And no Bible-Belters to mess with me
Momma don't miss me
Momma don't miss me
This death will complete me"
"But where I go there will be no one to meet me
I know there will be no one to meet me". . .

Just as mother-less birds fly high
Well, then so shall I

Uh, I'm sure most of them will end up being B-Sides, and maybe That's How People Grow up a single.
Lets pray there's some goodies hidden somewhere.

Maybe Morrissey needs a muse to inspire him.

(no jokes about Matt Bellamy's band please! :) )

Maybe Morrissey needs a muse to inspire him.

I was just thinking this this morning. Not necessarily a person, but a situational muse. Because all I'm hearing about right now is his encroaching mortality... there's more than life than waiting to die. Where's the wild man? Let him out, already. What do you have to lose?

I'd just wish to add some lines from 2006 who still got class.

Impregnating women
Or kissing mad street boys from Napoli
Who couldn't even spell the wrong name

I think it sounds more like "who couldn't spell their own name" (He does mumble it a bit)

Makes more sense that way too. What do others hear ?

I love the piano intro too
