I Know It's Over...
I caught a couple of lyric changes in Phoenix, but missed one in "The Queen Is Dead". Does anyone recall what he sang in Phoenix?

"So I broke into the palace,
with a sponge and a rusty spanner,
she said I DO NOT KNOW YOU,
I said that's nothing {????}"

In "At last I Born." He sang,
"Look at me now,
From fat little child,
to spectral hand,
to Claude Brasseur
Oh-who the hell is Claude Brasseur?"

During "Disappointed" he sang,
"Your friends and their phones would rather die than have to sleep with you."

I'm still beaming from the handshake during the concert. Fifteen years of devotion all repaid by a simple handshake. Thank you my man!

One Of the bootlegs I have says...

"She said I know you and you can not sing..."
I said "Of course I can, you silly thing"

Another says

"I Swear to God I still don't know what drugs are"

"She said I know you and you can not sing..."
I said "Of course I can, you silly thing"

Yep. I do believe that was it. If you get a bootleg from Phoenix, *please* let me know. I got my first Morrissey handshake, so clearly I think it was the best show, but the band played great and Moz was in a great mood. The security into the venue was very loose. I didn't even get searched. I hope someone taped the show!

Yeah, I think you are right. I want a bootleg of that show. It was awesome.

When he sang "I Will See You in Far Off Places" he said, "And if George W. Bush doesn't kill you" instead of "And if the U.S.A. doesn't bomb you".

In Pasadena he said "BUSH BUSH BUSH doesn't Bomb you"

Yes, I caught that one. Interesting lyric change that. I wonder, did he sing it that way outside the U.S. too, or is that for domestic U.S. consumption only?

Either way, I'm pleased he made it out of Texas alive...

I live in Texas. Most of us actually do hate Bush. :)

Besides, I wouldn't have let him get hurt. ;)

Hi all, I have been lurking on this board ever since the austin show and thought I'd better introduce myself and start posting. Austin was my very first Morrissey (or Smiths for that matter) concert. I am a Smith's/Morrissey fan since college...around '84/'85. The Austin show simply exceeded my expectations beyond belief. I cannot stop smiling when I think about the handshake I got from Moz and being no more than 6 feet from the man as he sang my favorite songs. Not to mention the giant bruise on my arm from the stampede to the stage at the end (i was not expecting that, but like I said I am a newbie.) Anyway...In the Queen is Dead, I could have sworn he said:
"...Charles, don't you ever crave
To appear on the front of the Daily Mail
Dressed in your brother's bridal veil?"

Anyone else notice that? Or has it already been mentioned.

Yep, lately it's been Brother's bridal veil... referring to Andrew? About whom you never hear anymore.

Both shows I saw, and all bootlegs for the US leg that I have heard, have substituted "George W Bush" doesn't bomb you... acknowledging that we are not all supporting the war, which is appreciated.
