Johnnny Marr/Cornershop

I could not help but me mildly amused to find that Johnny Marr and Cornershop have been in the studio together recording a Beatles song for a John Lennon tribute album. I wonder what Morrissey would think? Cornershop of course shot to prominence in the early 90s when they staged a burning of Morrissey posters and records outside his then record company offices in London.I saw them play live here in the U.K around that time and they remain the worst band I have ever seen. They literally COULD NOT PLAY!. they have, of course, improved and their album" when i was born for the 7th time" is excellent.

I wonder if Morrissey will see Johnny's involvement as an act of betrayal.

They were of course protesting about Morrisseys alleged racism.

I guess he saw Johnny's quitting the Smiths as a betrayal to start with....

As for Cornershop: They really have improved??? This world never stops to surprise me...

Cornershop are a bunch of idiots or maybe not..You would have to be severly braindamaged to think Bengali is a racist song..they must of known, they just used it as means to gain some form of infamy.
They truly are one of the worst bands ever, and thats an opinion seperate from the Morrissey connection, they really are bad.

i think it was "national front disco" that they objected to johnny.you are right about the poster burning etc.A very cheap publicity stunt.

Wow, it was pretty ignorant of me to assume that it was Bengali in Platforms.

interesting lads - opposing "alleged racism" by behaving like racists did somewhere in Europe during the 4Os (some still do).

I think I know what Mozzie would think.

I thought the poster burning came on the heels of the Union Jack incident.
