Calling all fans....

I need your help if you can spare your thoughts.
I have too people I work with that are both die-hard
"Parrotheads" otherwise known as Jimmy Buffett fans.
They actually have the audacity to say Jimmy Buffett
is a better singer, writer, and is more influential than
Morrissey.
They throw stuff at me like "no one has ever heard of
Morrissey", or "Buffett sells out much larger venues"
and my personal favorite "How many times does Morrissey
get mentioned in songs? Jimmy Buffett gets mentioned by
country artists like Kenny Chesney and Allan Jackson."
I live in Nashville, TN and that is where they are both
from. They both definitely think inside their little
southern mentality box - and I would sure love to show
them how insane and ignorant they are!
Any help would be appreciated...

What a weird concept! Parrotheads (basically drunken Jimmy Buffett fans drinking Margs in their Hawaiian shirts- so profound. He's NOT my favorite or even close- but Erik, you have to remember these Parrotheads are all about 50 yrs or so. They all drink to extreme excess. They no NOTHING about nuance in music. Comparing Morrisey to Jimmy Buffett is like...David Bowie to Garth whatshisname. Who CARES if Buffett sells out sometimes bigger venues- it's the crowds only excuse for a tailgate party in the parking lot beforehand. Your co workers would NEVER even grasp the concept of Moz. They don't need to be shown how insane they may be, YOU already know they ARE and that is all that matters. Why waste your time on these people? Yeah, ask your pals if they could ever attend a Jimmy Buffett show WITHOUT drinking a zillion Margaritas, or drinking, period, ask them if they could just enjoy the man without making it this trailer trash tailgate scene. I'll think up some more!
