When Last I Spoke To Carol (Toy Selectah mix)

Did you catch the Toy Selectah mix of “When Last I Spoke To Carol” at a recent Moz show on the PA? If you didn’t, or if you just want to hear it again and again, it’s on the player.

The Smiths - Singles Box 10cds coming soon - HMV.co.uk

now a cd single version of the smiths 7" boxset - link posted by pubrockcoma:
The Smiths: Singles Box: Limited - recordstore.co.uk

CD version of the highly popular “Singles Box”

A clamshell card box containing the first ten UK-issued Smiths singles in original picture sleeves, featuring the original 12" single tracklistings, apart from the first single 'Hand In Glove', which appears in it's mega-rare "negative" sleeve. Two singles are exclusive to this box set; The rare Francois Kevorkian-mixed "New York" 12" version of "This Charming Man" which had a limited issue in December 1983 and the German import-only 12" version of "Barbarism Begins At Home" from 1985. The box is completed with a poster featuring the single artworks.

All singles utilise newly re-mastered audio by Frank Arkwright overseen by Johnny Marr, and feature many non-album tracks, including the hard to find B-side live BBC tracks recorded at the Oxford Apollo in 1985. A must have item, and limited to 10,000 copies only.

I just got an e-mailing from Lost Highway Records which includes an ad for the Maladjusted re-release coming out on cd and digitally on June 9.

Lifted from the amazon.com description: Digitally remastered and expanded edition of his 1997 album, now completely re-sequenced by Morrissey and including four bonus tracks...Presented in a deluxe hard-back packaging complete with a 24-page picture booklet boasting new artwork, a typically captivating new essay by Morrissey himself, and rare photos.

Seriously, the artwork looks to be about 10000x better than the original. Good work, Moz!

Well I Warbler! Packham reveals Smiths song-title lark in Springwatch

Hopefully all UK Solo readers are avidly glued to 'Springwatch' at the moment anyway (nature is a language.....), but just in case you haven't noticed Chris Packham's daily Moz references...

The programme is on at 8pm on BBC2 each weekday at the moment, and Chris is slipping a Smiths song title into every hour long episode! Proof, if it were needed, that he is infinitely preferable to Bill Oddie!

See comments at the end of the link for more Moz/nature puns than you can shake a stick at...

Has anyone else noticed that ornithologist Chris Packham on BBC Springwatch has been slipping in the odd Smiths lyric reference here and there? Didn't realise he was a fan, though probably explains his haircut on 80s kids tv!

Last night's was 'You just haven't earned it yet baby' to the bemusement of co presenter Kate Humble.
Previous ones this week have been 'Hand in Glove and 'Frankly Mr Shankly'

Birdwatching and Morrissey, who'd have thought it! I feel slightly more cool for watching it now...
