Who has bought 'Nancy'?

I think I have to buy it. I enjoyed 'Don't let him waste your time' on the Jonathan Ross show. I like the guitar sound as much as anything because it kind of reminds me of like Jonathan Richman. Well done Jarvis. Pete (Thomas?) on that show was again using earphones wasn't he? Why would he do that? Seeing him play live with headphones on was extraordinary.

Anyone see the photo of Nancy with Elton John at the Q awards earlier this week? Of course EJ had his mouth wide open. Seems the press are only interested in publishing awful pictures of him. Maybe there aren't any good ones though.

And what's all this about Nancy being due for an award from Q but not getting it? (from The Mirror):

HER dad may be a music icon but that didn't help Nancy Sinatra at yesterday's awards.

The singer, daughter of Frank, had been due to pick up a special award but organisers changed their minds at the last minute, fearing her behaviour on stage would be "too erratic".

An insider said of the 60-year-old: "Because she can be unpredictable they decided not to give her an award. But in all the excitement of the ceremony no one even noticed."

Erratic? Does anyone have any examples of this? I've never heard of this...

It's at #106 in the album midweeks.

Not doing too well then eh?

I think that stuff about being 'erratic' was probably made-up nonsense. After all I can't think exactly what excuse for an award they would give her. She has only just released a record after donkey's years. But then again perhaps they were afraid that she'd make a mockery of it by asking what on Earth she'd done to deserve an award?

bournemoz, may I ask where do you find out these mid-week chart things?

I work at a radio station and the figures are sent through daily. They're not really for publication, but hey, the showbiz columns in the daily press always hint at what's going on most weeks.

Where is LMKY in the airplay charts then?

It's not in the top 50 according to www.chartrefugees.com

Everyone (who does not like Morrissey) is stupid, dumb, and retarded! Okay, I feel better. Also, I hate 'Train' and 'Counting Crows.' I had to listen to it all night last night and I was pretty sure that my head was going to blow up, and I was going to die.

I love Nancy Sinatra

Ta very much, have you read Steve Diggle's biography 'Harmony in my head' ? There are some hilarious stories in that one, here's a funny or tragic one about Moz depending on how you look at it.

"Manchester was a great place but there was only so much you could do. Even later on, when Morrissey started to get noticed, he would get chased down the street in high heels. He was into the New York Dolls, he would dress like them and literally have to run for his life. You didn't want that. Full respect to him, but when you lived in a close-knit community, you f***ing well stick out in high heels".
