You may be interested in taking part in a new online poll to find the greatest albums to come out of Manchester. Obviously, Morrissey and The Smiths feature heavily, so come and vote (feel free to add any albums you think are missing):

The greatest albums from Manchester are.....

The top spot is currently being held by the Fall's 'This Nations' Saving Grace'. Do you agree?

The Queen Is Dead
Unknown Pleasures
The Stone Roses
What's The Story (Morning Glory)

In no particular order, these would be my top best Manchester albums.

My top five would be:

1. The Queen Is Dead
2. Singles Going Steady
3. This Nation's Saving Grace
4. Closer / Your Arsenal
5. The Stone Roses / Real Life

Can one vote without registering?

BTW, next week is 20th anniversary of the release of Stone Roses.

At that time I was studying in Manchester, remember the whole city was covered with lemon poster. :)

Sorry Kewpie, you are wrong. The Stone Roses self titled album was released in March 1989.

Yep, I stand corrected.
For some reason I mixed up with the year and month, but I was in Manchester in 1989.

I met my wife in March 1989, at the University. Just think, it could have been you!

You Don't know how lucky you are! :D
