I don't know if I could agree with you on that, but I do appreciate the songs for what they are- a different take on the sound of the early Smiths. The rawer production does add something to the music at times... I like the Tate versions of Hand In Glove and You've Got Everything Now, but not moreso than the Porter remakes.
