The Cure - releasing new album later this year

I just heard on the radio that The Cure are in the studio and should be putting out a new album before the end of the year.
Went to their website but saw no such news.
I had heard a long way back that they were supposed to be putting out one similar time to as when ROTT came out but that didn't materialize.
So we shall see...

Well, you knew this was coming - rumors of the new album being delayed until 2007 are now officially confirmed by Universal Spain and HispaCure:

"I have just received the e-mail below from Hispacure (the Spanish Cure fan club) which, if true, contains some rather disappointing news. It says that Universal Music Spain has confirmed to HispaCure in a world exclusive that The Cure's new album (announced by Robert Smith and various specialised media for Halloween 2006) has been delayed until next year.

Yeah, the record had been tentatively slated for the end of October. Only now, according to the Chain of Flowers website, the date has been pushed forward into the next year; Robert has even hinted that the new album could be a double.

if it's a double that's on par with "kiss me...", then bring it on.

How much I like the Cure though, if it's as bad as their last selftitled album, then .. then.. :(

The Chain of Flowers site I find is the most informative for info.

Love the Cure, been to see them more than Moz {just due to logistics} and I will agree the last album was not their best. I really thought when they did Bloodflowers that he was back on track....but I digress.

Just as well the album is delayed, too broke to see a show right now anyway, and they are pretty diligent about making sure a tour follows their albums.

Great Cure albums: Disintegration, Pornography, Kiss me etc, Faith, Boys don't cry. (and half of Wish and half of Head on the door)

When was the last good album they put out, something like 15 Years ago?

Who cares, seriously.
