Russell Brand

Neil Oliver is more eloquent and lucid than you could ever dream of being
So is this:

I think he was involved, it sounds a lot like things he says
I doubt he was involved in the writing of it, that would require some sort of effort on his part and he’s bedridden with dengue fever, remember?
But she certainly wrote it with Morrissey in mind (for she seems to think of little else).

"I want to support victims, just not now."
Your paraphrase of her is totally dishonest. This is what she actually says in the article:

I do support victims, I want them to receive justice and I do want them to be heard – but not through the lens of craftily edited TV shows and sensationalist headlines.

Still, why let facts get in the way, eh?

If it turns out Brand has physically abused/raped people, then that is obviously inexcusable, and he gets no sympathy from me.

That said, some of the more general accusations around his broadcasting at the time seem to be very much a media driven hysterical witchhunt. Brand achieved his initial fame thanks to pushing boundaries, and the whole cheeky chappie sexual innuendo persona. People used to laugh, praise him and give him more work and money when he went on TV programs and flirted with the female presenters, so of course he carried on behaving that way. That was his career Now, everyone is clutching their pearls in horror and saying how such behavior was monstrous and beyond the pale. We are definitely living in an increasingly puritanical society. They look at the past, even the recent past, and judge it very differently to how it was perceived at the time.
Totally agree. The documentary could have been subtitled, No sex please, we're British. The real sin he was accused of in the documentary was that of getting a lot of sex. In Britain, that's worse than getting a lot of money. Brand, of course, did both. As many have pointed out, whether it was the Beats in the 1950s, the hippies in the 60s, punk in the 70s, the 'laddish' behaviour of the 90s, all would be criminalised now by the new puritanism. Is it any wonder all the evidence is that young people are having less sex these days? Maybe one of the reasons is that porn is everywhere, and social media, making kids more socially inept? But maybe also they're just too frightened to ask each other out? The likes of Luxo will be round to lock them up.

Close friend of Russell Brain-Damage LOL :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
The Silence of the Steve is pure Gold.

Are you with him or not Steve ?????

Man up Steve and quote us some bollocks.
(be very careful though !!! Not many fans left now is there !!!)

Benny-the-Very-Proud-British-Butcher 🇬🇧:knife:
He can write a character letter for him.

Besides her annoying bad grammar and her inability to string together coherhent thoughts or make any sense at all, what she is quite literally saying here is that the media should not be allowed to report on things like this. Silencing the media is not the solution. Also, she totally neglects the fact that Brand had been given a chance to respond, so this is not 'bias' material, he just chose to not tell his side.
But then again, this is a woman who posts Morrissey's conspiracy theories and lies without giving one f*** about the people he attacks and accuses.

I have no problem with a media outlet putting allegations into the public domain. That is what good investigative journalism is for. I do have a problem with a media outlet editing and manipulating how the allegations are presented in order to make someone look guilty as hell and destroy them. And potentially compromising any future chance of a fair trial. That's a hit job. That's not just putting information into the public domain.

I was thinking the same and been thinking this for a while now. All her articles sound ghostwritten by Morrissey, because they always have the pathos and expressions M uses and just regurgitate things he is on about. He at least gives her a briefing what to write and that would be so fitting. Of course, there come the people that say, oh M would write that 100% better, but would he? Nowadays I often don't think that. Whatever, if she writes them in her own style with his briefing or if he gives her prompts, he surely is involved, hence her insider tweet about Peter Katsis not being the manager. She really should be appointed official press agent, thst would suit the chaos. I'm waiting on a "Why dengue is really is on the rise in Mexico" - article.

I agree that the expressions are similar. I particularly dislike the way they both address the readers as 'you' and tell them what they should or shouldn't do. However, I've been hoping he might have dropped her, as some of her recent efforts failed to make it onto Central. I can't see that they have been beneficial to each other's careers. Of the Peter Katsis titbit, I would expect that she still has Peter's contact details from before Pingate and could ask him directly if he was Morrissey's manager again.

Roberto hooked her up with Sam on Twitter after she wrote her first article about Morrissey because her beat is horror & cancelled celebrities.

She puts everything on Twitter. It's not even a tiny bit mysterious.

Russell had the ladies laid on for him in Australia too, back in the day:-

That's very light-hearted and egalitarian compared to Jeffrey Epstein's infamy in procuring sexual services for wealthy individuals, as also graphically depicted in Claire Denis' 2013 film Les Batards .

Sex workers are routinely laid on for big sports and other events, including various conferences.

Ah well, he can sue them for defamation if they have been manipulated. None of us have any idea of knowing whether they were manipulated. I know you think you do, because you think some obscure YouTuber is more qualified to make such judgements than the Times' and Channel 4's legal teams, but you're no more qualified or in position to make such a claim, just like I'm not qualified to be an astronaut.

If Jimmy Savile were alive and posting videos about "big pharma" or whatever, you'd be on your knees licking his boots protesting his innocence, questioning the women's stories and accusing the media of making all the stories up, and I'm convinced you'd do the same for Jeffrey Epstein if his political views were the same as yours.
