In 2002, Morrissey called upon the people of Australia to boycott Thailand due to the cruel treatment of elephants as reported on this site: (http://www.morrissey-solo.com/article.pl?sid=02/10/16/162240) Now granted, this is different than Morrissey refusing to play concerts there, but that would be a little like boycotting the moon. Of course he wouldn't play there. If you look at the article and comments, there was no uproar over this boycott.
For the record, I don't agree with Morrissey's decision. This only impacts fans in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal who are miles and miles from the closest seal hunt. This is just food for thought.
