One of these days, you will have to grow up and face life like everybody else. Misconception #1: Politicians are responsible for people's personal dilemmas. Homelessness will always and forever be. Its quite obviously sad and horrible, and liberal politicians attack a problem that no one can dispute. Take a bunch of random homeless people. Give them a steady diet of meals and a roof over their heads. Would anyone disagree that every human being deserves that minumum of comfort? No. You don't and neither do I. But how long do you prolong these people's lives when they have no will of their own to work hard and solve their own problems? Its harder to work and do something with your life than to withstand a homeless life and take advantage of the charitable portion of our society.¿ I wonder why you take so much offense to the fact that someone¿ could give two monkey craps about politics.
You refuse to learn what I've to repeat once again. Your attitude is passionate and ultra-liberal, and your opinions are not validated by any logic that needs a mental discipline to maintain. You formulate easy opinions that no one would readily dismiss or disagree with (i.e. homelessness) and refuse to go any further, to argue a specific point, to recognize and praise knowledge, whereas I clearly, thoughtfully, and as objectively as possible attempt to describe political viewpoints. You then simply attack my character by saying that I do the same, when the evidence clearly shows that I've frequently attempted to motivate and compliment you. You have as of yet only allowed the discussion to be described as intelligent, and that is seemingly as far as you are willing to lower your defenses.¿ Just like the cult Christians on campus aren't forcing me to¿ join, right? It's more like "You'll be surprised how this¿ will affect your life". I say "No thanks". And¿ you say, "Fine then, punk! You're going to hell¿ anyways!!". Your agressive nature is a clear display of the¿ formula above, and a form of imposing your ideals on me.
I dislike (cult) Christians just as much as you, trust me. I grew up in an ultra-conservative household and despise religion. I don't see how we cannot get over the guilt-factor (sin) in motivating people and begin to recognize man as being the sole bearer of the idea of morals. I don't believe in arguments about god and the afterlife. They are pedantic and useless. Prayer is a wonderful word for procrastination. Angels and demons are nothing but silly imagery and should hold no more meaning than vampires and fairies. The ten commandments are wonderful, and the responsibility of upholding the logical values found therein should rest within the true creator of them: humanity. I'd love to discuss the idea further, but based upon your reaction to the christians at your school, you display a very undisciplined, immature logic towards settling the insults you feel.
And you are right, I am very aggressive. I feel strongly about my ideals, and I am proud of the ability to back them up with clear reason and logic. I've taken philosophy classes myself, Mani, and aside from deriving the classic lessons in defining certain argumental structures and logic, I've found the classes and the teachers to be far too subjective when applying philosophical theses towards modern society.¿ Why the hell should I inject anything? This is a MESSAGE BOARD.¿ Is David Tseng correcting these for grammar? Oh, I should hit¿ the spell checker, then! Anonymity is sacridity, here in Moz¿ solo. #2 is where all the questions arise. Your reasons for liking a shirt are most likely very image-conscience. I can prove it, too. You see, I readily admit that I buy my clothes to appear a specific way. I don't pretend otherwise. It saves me a lot of hassle. I usually wear whatever's popular, yet toned down somehow. Oh, yes, and I have a couple of band t-shirts. People that pretend that their method of selecting apparel is traditionally cavalier (i.e. thrift-shops, nondescript clothing) have too much to prove in saying so. That is why these people, like yourself, have so much time wasted in worrying about their appearance and care far too much about sending a message through what they wear, INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY DO or, to a lesser degree, what they say.¿ Today, I am wearing creepers, black slacks, a white t-shirt, and¿ a belt....who marketed this idea in which I am attempting to¿ copy? I'm far more comfortable with the assumption that WE ARE ALL THE SAME. We all have the same needs, essentially. That we go about it in different ways does not disguise the fact. I know it may seem tright and easy, but one of Moz's best known lines is "I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does". A perfect illustration of how everybody has far more in common than they may like to admit. So what if someone is British, Canadian, a boy or a girl? To be honest, Morrissey is not ambiguous to me. He's rather well self-defined. He simply believes that any and all sexuality should be under the same heading, whether its straight, bi, or gay.¿ You made several statements that¿ disgrace the honor that everyone in here represents.
I disagree with this statement. I think you think too highly of your constituents on this message board. Do you understand that when you make a statement how you feel that women in general are capable of a given thing, it precludes the thought from which it stems--that there exists a belief somehow that the adverse is true. The fact that you believe that women are capable of holding a high office is condescending towards all women, because its an idea that SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE SAID. Its disgraceful. What is that last sentence supposed to mean? Is that ridiculing gay activity, by hoping that I will have to worry about being sodomized or raped? How can you call me silly when you make statements as immature as these that any third-grader could understand, whilst my sarcasm can be argued to a bit more disciplined and relevant to the conversation at hand.
As far as my opinions on gay people--I feel homosexuality is a psycological CONDITION (notice I do not stress it as a disorder) derived from a particular parental attitude towards children. I feel that most people in general have homosexual tendencies (obviously some more than others), much more than may commonly be discussed, and I feel that it is useless to attempt to cure it or to discover any further how it comes about. I have no prejudice towards gay people whatsoever. In fact, I would probably have to say that's its the gay musicians and artists that are the majority in my tastes. However, I myself am not gay. PLEASE NOTE: I do certainly criticize an overbearingly obvious gay lifestyle. This does not mean gay sex. This means that when a sexual preference plays such a large role in someone's personality that everyone is immediately attuned to it in his/her's presence, that its a nuisance and an obstacle in that gay person's growth. I'm not saying that gay people should remain in the closet--I'm saying lose the stereotypical conventions of a gay man or women's life. Have gay sex all day every day, it doesn't bother me. Simply don't wear it as a badge on your sleeve. Sexuality is something given to you, not something earned, and shoudl be appreciated as a gift until its fleetingness is discovered late in life.
Feel free, Mani, to be as opinionated as you wish in response. But, I beg of you to leave out the profanity and vulgarity. Deep down inside you there is a serious adult dying to get out.
