Way back when i first got into the smiths at the time of panic, then i bought the rest of the albums and singles, why did i own a record which sleeve was of a well muscled guy with a buff ass (hand in glove). Why was i listening to lyrics like "in the darkened underpass, i thought oh god my chance has come at last" which is a reference to cruising in my opinion, the smiths definitely turned me in the gay direction, but hey, i'm happy!

now I've heard it all

Blaming The Smiths for turning you gay, huh. LOL. Is it really that hard to take responsibility for yourself? I'm gay too, and yes, when I was 15 I was strangely fascinated by the cover art of The Smiths albums/singles too, but I certainly know not to blame them for my sex life. I was just as intrigued by Gene Loves Jezebel at the time and I'm not into drag queens today because of it. It's because of what's in your genes, not what's on their sleeves.

If The Smiths did anything in regards to my homosexuality it was through their lyrics. I found comfort in them and realized that it was okay to be who I was regardless of what anyone else thought and that I was not alone. But I'm not about to hold them responsible for "turning" me gay.

Personally, it was having a bloody good f*ck with a bloke that turned me gay.

First you used Greasetea, then Mr. Proper, then Mrs. Proper, then Mr. Pooper and now Hopelessnog? Please keep ONE name so the people playing at home can follow along? Ok?

Murdoch - Gene Loves Jezebel....

...they're from a seaside town in Wales calledPorthcawl and were friendly with a friend of mine back in the late 70s.... he has some cracking photos of them both at Michael's wedding in 1979....all kipper ties, wedge haircuts and wide-lapel flary suits.

Quite different from how they appeared a few years later..... (and I went through a questionable Jay Aston phase, myself, I'm ashamedto say.... ribbons, eyeliner, the lot.)

Oh, don't be ashamed of that, really. Confessions like that make for interesting memories. I mean, how many guys can honestly say they grew up in the 80's and DIDN'T apply eyeliner or try some cornrows at one point or another. Damn that Boy George!

How true. He posts under Greasetea/Mr. Proper also.

Combined, they have the mentality of a 89 year old Alzheimers patient. I'm being kind here.> First you used Greasetea, then Mr. Proper, then Mrs. Proper, then Mr.
