Jeezus!

Why dont you just base the club in Beirute for Gods sake? Seems like the hoods keep getting worse!

MOZ VS. DEPECHE MODE? Quality versus banility? What a strange brew you US club people concoct..

Re: Oi you!!!!

As someone who was lucky enough to catch two DM shows this summer I can say - Depeche Mode have turned into a bleeding smashingly good band and Dave Gahan is THE official Rock'n'Roll animal!!!! Morrissey should take a good few lessons from these guys in how to handle a career that was about to die off......

Don't get me worng .. I have the 'Greatest hits' of DM.. (don't think I'd go to the albums though).. so I do quite like them.. But my point was Morrissey versus DM? I mean, no contest is there.. A cusious thing about DM as well.. They always seem to be massively more popular outside of the UK.. (I have no stats to support this of course, just my opinion.. being on the scene sotospeak)

I knew a few (Essex Boys/girls) that used to get on the same train to Basildon with Gahan.. And Yeah.. errant sexual encounters and thousands of punds of drugs abuse means he has 'lived it' and come out the other side apparrently.. Official Rock N'Roll though?.. More guitars for me for that though..

Fair point. And we all wonder will Morrissey rise from the flames like an all conquering phoenix? hmm.. Has he the wing span or the fire for that? I dunno..

PS, How's Els and Boz?

Believe it or not, there is a potential contest..... Depeche Mode of 2001 isn't the same as Depeche Mode of 1985. They have developed, and as oppose to Morrissey they have developed FORWARDS and gotten better, whilst our Moz is certainly still good, but nowhere near his genius standard of former years.

I told you, I've seen them....loads of guitars. What I meant though is that Dave Gahan is absolutely unbeatable as a performer. Moz's talent is for instance to communicate with individuals in the audience, hold their hands, etc.which is very nice if you happen to be that one person - Gahan can communicate with someone in the last row of a 60.000 venue which is an ability few performers have.

I'm sad to say I doubt it. I'll be the first to change my mind though if he comes out with some great work.

Fine =) Elsing and Bozzing around as usual...

They have certainly developed (from Just Can't Get enough through to Barrel of a Gun!!). I think I preferred the mid term DM though 'Leave In Silence' era though. I do concede I am not the worlds expert on DM though!

Morrisseys last great album was Vauxhall and I wasn't it really.. Followed by the odd decent song.. seems such a long time ago..

I am surprised that you say how great he is and with loads of guitars.. You make him sound like an Electro-Bono.. I shall have to see him sometime... but the problem is .. I don't do stadiums!! (and I am not a snob.. I just enjoy intimacy)

How many performres can do that? Good question to ponder.. Mick Jagger, Jarvis Cockers, Bono, Bowie, Billy Bragg???

Won't we all.. be surprised.. and then pleasantly relived to change our pessimistic minds.

Bis bald.. Ruffian
