Have I Always Been This Miserable?

It is an oft told tale that my family tells and retells, how I giggled when the doctor slapped my buttocks.

I think that I only did it to distract my mother who happened to be crying at the time.

It did not work...and it still does not.

Now I just cry along with her.

I hope you find peace and happiness one day.

Oh but I have! Unfortunately, she lives on the other side of the Atlantic...but her true home is here, in my heart.

...and I wont find her in the corner
in a tin flask from my coat.

Love the name of that group.

I love the band. Their first album --titled simply "1"-- is one of my all-time favorites -- the last track, A Heart The Size Of A Horse, is something like the sound of your most desperate loneliness imploding...with yourself trapped somewhere inside.

What was I thinking? The album is self-titled -- it is often referred to as "1" by fans.

Wow, it is a very dark and sad sounding song. But also very beautiful. I have it on a loop. It is growing on me.
