Is it true that Kevin Spacey has more than one Mozz cd in his car cd changer?
You'd think so from watching his performace(a/k/a his Moz impersonation) on the 9/11 concert that aired in the US.
Ellroy, you did yr. homework. I have seen this question posted before, and have been visiting M-S for years, and remember alot of these. I sure didn't have the time and energy to collect all the info, so thanks.
Re: Pete waterman hates the smiths? that's made my day
I recall Pete Waterman slagged off Morrissey on Round Table (or its replacement) when he was reviewing Sandie Shaw's 'Please help the cause against lonelyness'
I think Mike Read, who was presenting, defended Mozz.
Tony Blair mentioned the Smiths in a speech at the 1994 Q Awards (but the speech was probably written by Peter Mandelson, Alexander Campbell or
a young pup in the Labour party).
Jonthan King launched a Save our Smiths campaign in the Sun to try to bring the group back together (although I think the campaign just involved one article). He also wrote a song about Morrissey in between buggering young boys.
David 'kid' Jenson was a big fan
Andy and Liz Kershaw
Bernard Manning claimed not to know who the Smiths were after singing girlfriend in a coma on the Last Resort
Bryan Ferry
that fella from Hollyoaks who was a bastard and is now in Brookside
Bono
thats enough - I'm off for a bagel and a cup if tea

Neil Tennant said in an interview that Morrissey was the greatest living pop lyricist. In addition, he wrote at least one song about him, one being "Miserablism". (one of my top 5 Pet Shop Boys tracks, btw...)
