Fulham Road Lights
Ill-adjusted
Just a theme I'm interested in at the minute. What's everyone's thoughts?
"Give in to lust, give up to lust, oh, heaven knows we'll soon be dust"
'Times tide will smother you'
Or, combined with your own inbuilt empathy/memories....
"Your gran died, and your mother died on Maudlin Steet.....with never time to say, all the special things..."
Particularly crushing
I know that this song has nothing to do really with the fragility of life (rather the fragility of self), but I am really into I Can Have Both right now. It conjures up all kinds of meanings to me and I really wonder what impetus is responsible for its composition.
"Time takes all breath away" from You Were Good in Your Time.
There are indeed moments of poetry on YoR, despite some pegging it as a samey rawk album.

Also another song that conjures up fragility is The Boy With The Thorn In His Side when he says,
And when you want to Live
How do you start ?
Where do you go ?
Who do you need to know ?
It really describes so simply that feeling of being alone and fragile for me.
Interesting thread, for sure.
"Oh time is gonna wipe us out" in I'd Love To.
Though, then he continues:
There, I've said it loud and clear
So that you will hear
There's no one in view
Just you
Just you
And time will never wipe you out

a truly splendid song. well done for remembering!
if only Boz and Moz would write more songs in this dreamy, melancholic style (You Should Have Been Nice is another example).
