Hi fellow Morrissey-lovin' freaks,

I am currently in London England on a Working Holiday and am looking for a fellow Morrissey-mad person to travel to Manchester with to see the essential Smiths-Morrissey landmarks. Nothing huge, just a few days. The winter would be the ideal time to go as it is guaranteed to be cold and grey and very "Every Day is Like Sunday"esque.

E-mail me at [email protected] if you have the cash, time and desire to make such a trip.

Hope to hear from some of you soon...

Oh, how I wish I could go. Since I live in California, it's pretty impossible, but I DO plan on going once I get out of school...

being cold sucks

I'm going to london in may. And i think i'd like to visit a few morrissey type sites. Any suggestions as to which one are a good choice in visiting?

Re: Morrissey landmarks

In Manchester, your best bets are:

The Holy Name Church at the University
Rusholme
Kings Road (Whalley Range/Stretford)
The Arndale Center
The Hulme bridge (though built only a couple years ago)
and Her Majesty's Prison/Boddington's Brewery at Strangeways.

This should give you a feel for Morrissey's past.
Anybody else have any suggestions on the essentials?

In London you could go to:
Tench & Reardon Streets in East London
Euston Station
the Y.W.C.A. (wherever that is)
Toni & Guy's Haircuttery in Sloane Square

You know, there's a website that lists all these places with maps...I just can't remember which one it is...

Just a couple you missed:
The Southern Cemetery, West Didsbury - where Morrissey used to meet Linder, and the inspiration for Cemetry Gates.
Also, Mayfield Road (I think) where Moz used to live.
Finally, the shot on the rear cover of "Strangeways..." was taken near the above prison (obviously, I suppose!) down an alleyway next to Victoria Railway station (sound familiar?). The original sign is gone (well done to whoever got that little gem) but there's a replacement there, good for a photo!).

MARIBEL I SAW YOUR PICTURE AND I THINK YOUR THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE SITE. I WOULD LOVE TO GO ANYWHERE WITH YOU LETS TALK MORE OK?
