Re: Article: Universal says ‘no comment’ on claims Morrissey has been dropped; Warner/Chappell still
You are correct! If Jeremy Enigk can start his Lewis Hollow label that released his 2006 solo effort World Waits, why the Hell can't someone like Moz also do the same. Obviously he would...
Probably whats happened is, the label's no comment does mean business as usual and they want to try to get whatever milage left that they can out of the release. When Morrissey first heard the news, he was probably told that they would appreciate it if he would wait to make any comment, but he...
Today's technology allows more so than ever artists like Morrissey who are very, "I want things done my way,I don't like to compromise",types of artists, the ability to easily do their own thing on their own terms. The fact the Moz said he is old school and has to have a major label behind him...
Wow this is somewhat of a shock. I know Moz recently publicly had complained about his label's lack of support, with his talk about the lack of them getting behind a music video for the title track; but one would hardly think that complaining about your employer like that would be grounds for...
I'm not one who usually gripes about Moz's political musings, (I'm a life long vegetarian myself), but moz has often been seen both on and off the stage wearing expensive designer label garbs, which I find to be a bit strange so I shall explain.
Because I liked some of the shirts and design...
I know I've seen in the past info about Morrissey wearing those Angelo Galasso designer button down shirts that are ridiculously expensive. Anyhow I kind of like the style of shirts he has been seen wearing during shows over the past year to a year and a half give or take. They have a sort of...
I'm sure this topic has been beat to death but I'm still sort of new to posting on here. I came across a cool video someone made to the maladjusted era B-side I can have both, (leg. edition). Anyhow the video has a photo montage from various periods made up of a lot of images I had never come...
Re: A thread for those who are indifferent towards the new album WPINOYB
Well said. Also all one would have to do is tweak the list slightly in a few spots and we'd be getting pretty close to the last official release, the Morrissey Live 25 video. If Moz ever does decide to actually show...
Re: A thread for those who are indifferent towards the new album WPINOYB
I agree about Art hounds making the actual album. That is one song that I think would have benefited from the heavier guitar stylings of the last few albums. I also think Action is my middle name should have at least...
I thought I would start a specific thread so those indifferent to the new album could voice their opinions.
I'll start with myself.
I am a huge fan, I want to love this album, I really do. I've listened about 15 times now and it really isn't growing. For myself anyways, no Morrissey...
Re: My Review Of The New Album
Noticed a couple of things. Not sure if its the same exact chord or just the guitar sound and way its played that is similar but the beginning to Staircase at the University resembles the intro to The National Front Disco quite a bit no? Also after the long...
I was listening to this song recently for the first time in a long time, and as I was listening I thought it would be interesting to check out interpretations of the lyrics on that song meanings.com site. I didn't see one person mention anything near as to what I have always thought the song to...
Re: My Review Of The New Album
It seems like the consensus around here is split, around half of you seem to be in the camp that this album is amazing and the best thing he seems to have done since his return from the first no record label/deal, break. While the other half seem to think it is...
I would think the two albums worth of material Jesse had referred to is probably more like a half of an album now, seeing that the deluxe version of this new album has 18 tracks?
That is what I figured, I knew Alain wrote a lot of those songs, but I couldn't remember if and to what extent he played on the album. Does anyone know why he stopped touring with Moz? I know he is based in L.A. and does a lot of session work. Did he want off the road, or did camp Morrissey...
To be fair Alain Whyte played quite a bit of the time with almost as much of the same intensity and distorted overdriven guitar as Jessy. I think a key factor in the difference is that Alain's guitar tone almost always would have a chorus effect turned on as well, which will definitely soften...
I forgot to add, if the last ten years was just turning out mediocre chug rock, why did you continue to listen and remain an active fan as a member of Morrissey-Solo? If thats all it was, there surely must have been better stuff you would have rather listened to? I think there has been a lot...
Sorry, but I think your assessment is a bit off.
Some of us who are guitar players, (and I also play piano and can read and write music, I don't just throw fuzzy chords together), but some us guitar players actually like some of the songs with a bit of rocking guitar crunch. Don't forget...
Re: Sneak Peek of the Morrissey CD.
Did anyone else find it rather strange that the actual album cover in its original form was originally what appeared to be just a candid shot outside of the studio which I think first appeared was it on Facebook or true-toyou? We then get a photoshoped...
I hope you die a slow painful death chocking on Morrissey's used tampon! Calling people out anonymously, as an anonymous guest poster, grow some would ya'!
