I had on 1/12 the chance to listen alone into the ROTT.
I was invited to the YATQ pre-listening in Germany and as I live now in New York, I had the chance to join the pre-listening of ROTT here supported by Sanctuary Germany. We have Britpop Club in Frankfurt-Germany and a network of nice fellows tried very hard to push YATQ in regard to airplay, magazines, etc. Our Club is called BRITPOP STRIKES AGAIN and we are promoting Moz, as often as possible. Unfortunately he is not touring Germany that often, but that will hopefully change.

Due to a different schedule I was listening on 1/12 to the record and just heard it once and the forthcoming (?) singles twice. Martin Soederstroem did a very good job and I am pleased that he is a good observer, as I was very nervous and it was a weird feeling to hear the record and try to comment it. I made a lot of notes and try still hard to remember details. I used his notes, and added my comments, but in general I think that he get the point and my notes are quite similar and adding some details and my opinion.

The next Quarry Morrissey/Smiths night will be on Saturday January 28th at The Extra Time Bar in the Barbican, London. It will be a year since Quarry started.

I realise that the night does clash with the Andy Rourke Manchester Cancer charity night so there will be a raffle to raise money for Andy Rourke's charity.

Photographer Stephen Wright has agreed to donate a prize which will be the famous limited edition Smiths Salford Lads Club Print, hand printed from the original negative. The print will be the 9.5" x 14" image on 16" x 12" paper and comes in editions of 100 worldwide. An example of the print can be seen on Stephen's web site.

There will be 2 further prizes which I'm currently working on but can't give too much away until I have them confirmed.

Advance tickets for Quarry are for sale on the web site using Paypal for £7. Quarry will be donating £1 from each ticket bought to Andy Rourke's charity in addition to the raffle.

Entry on the night will be £10 so it makes sense to get your ticket in advance which will then allow you to spend the £3 difference on extra raffle tickets for the charity!

Tickets and full details at:

http://www.quarrynight.com

I hope to see you there and thanks for your support

Mike

P.S. The Smyths will be playing this Saturday January 21st along with Re:Order, a New Order/Joy Division tribute, at The Dublin Castle pub in Camden. It will be great to see you there too. Full details.
Update: 01/17 19:54 GMT: Quarrynight adds:
Quarry is also planning a post Morrissey gig event for Bank Holiday Sunday May 28th.

The event will follow Morrissey's gig at The London Palladium.

It will be at a large Central London Venue close to The London Palladium.

Details will be announced soon on here and on the Quarry web site.
