I am a source close to Morrissey.

I feel moved to write to you to correct the post by Miranda Grey that Jack Wild is the inspiration behind "Little Man, What Now".

"Little Man, What Now" is most positively not inspired by the child actor Jack Wild, and in no way refers to him.

The words to the aforementioned song are concerned with a British actor called Malcolm McFee who appeared in two (UK) situation comedies in the early 1970s: "Please, Sir!" and "The Fenn Street Gang". He also appeared briefly in the film "Oh What A Lovely War!" (1969).

He died of cancer in Braintree, Essex in November, 2001.

I hope this lays to rest the Wild misapprehension.

The story which incorrectly referenced Jack Wild is here.

This is from the current Popbitch email (30th July). For those of you who don't know, Popbitch is full of pop culture scandals and gossip, although more often than not is right on the money. I know there is no info to back the story but it does cause stirrings in your trousers, doesn't it?

Does Mozza heart Johnny?

Duran Duran have done it. The Pogues, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, Doobie Brothers and Happy Mondays are all reforming too.

But the big news is that one 80s band no-one ever thought would be getting back together are in "early discussions."

The Smiths.

In the latest edition of Q Magazine (September 2004), there is a letter written by none other than Stephen Street (producer of 'Viva Hate'), in which he dismisses Vini Reilly's claims in the Q Smiths/Moz Special that he arranged the strings for 'Angel, Angel We Go Down Together, and that the guillotine sfx at the end of 'Margaret On The Guillotine' was also not Reilly's idea.

Funeral For A Friend: Ignoring Maiden Fans And The Mystery Behind Weird Names

by Andre Mihsin

Do the titles you pick ever have anything to do with the songs or do you pick what sounds cool?

MD: I’m a big fan of Morrissey and The Smiths and stuff like that and I think sometimes their titles didn’t have much of a representation of the actual song itself. Bands like Brand New have a tradition of obscure song titles and even more obscure lyrical content… I have a list of song titles that I want to use for the next record. Sometimes when I’m bored I just jot things down and say that’ll make a cool song title.

Just for the record, I am the fan in the white sleeveless top with 'Morrissey' written on it in red capital letters, being passed over the fans with my left arm outstretched, about 2mins 20secs through the FOTGTD video from the MEN Arena. It took three bouncers to hold me back from the stage once I'd got to the front!

Only a handful of these shirts were made - by a designer in Sydney called Peter Morrissey - his shop is on Oxford Street, Sydney.

Anyway, this could interest someone - I wasn't sure where to post it!

Is anyone else who is reading this featured on the video?

Also, having recently bought the Hulmerist DVD, I wonder if anyone who reached the stage at that gig has tried to (or managed to) get on stage at Morrissey's recent concerts...
