    2. Last years Inland invasion, beer was $8.00
    3. If you are on the lawn...you won't be able to see anything at all
    4. If you have seats, good luck finding shade.
    5. Traffic is horrible, only 2 ways in and out of the venue.

    Concert:
    1. Since it is an official KROQ event, what kind of fans do you think will be there?..... I rest my case!

    2. Did I mention Beer was $8 last year!

Yes its hot, expensive, parking sucks, etc., etc.
For those who are complaining I have some advice. Don't go! You can sit at home and believe yourself to be too cool for such an event as I will be enjoying the sounds of some of the best bands of yesterday and today, all topped off with a performance by Morrissey!

This line up is worth sitting through Billy Idol in 100 degree heat any day. I, for one, am so very pleased. Last year was fun, but this year is going to be fantastic!

  • Although, I will be going again for Morrissey & Souixsie, but this time I will NOT be early. Last year we arrived around noon & that was a mistake because the heat was hell. If you have seats, you're pretty much guaranteed your place (seat), until Morrissey starts of course. Then you can move your way down a few rows. The only reason to arrive early is if you have pit tickets & you want rail or want a decent spot on the lawn. And what everyone has been saying about lawn is true. We walked to the back of the lawn "seats" & you really could not see anything. The bands looked like ants! Wonder if this years show will sell out like last year... 60,000 is what I saw was capacity... that's just too many people.

  • It seems to me that in reading the festival's version of these events, they are insinuating that real stinker in this tale is Weitzman himself.

If I understood this right, the festival promoters are alleging that Weitzman used Morrissey's illness at the airport (panic attack or whatever) to shake them down for a few more euros for a Sunday show. If that is the case, that is one hell of an accusation towards a man who is hired to look over Morrissey's best interests.

Unfortunately, there have been one too many tales of pop artists being abused or ripped off by folks they hire to look over their interests, be it managers, accountants, and even housekeepers. That is what the festival's promoters may be counting on in convincing people to believe their side of the story.

I don't know what the truth is. I can only go by history. I believe Morrissey and the band had every intention to play at the festival and if Moz does suffer from these kinds of attacks, I would urge him to either seek help (medication and or therapy) or Weitzman should set Moz's schedule in such a way where they would have more control over mode of transportation, in other words avoid those little airplanes at all cost! Leave earlier in advance! Car, bus, van or bike it , if they must.

I hope Morrissey and the band make it up to their fans in Spain with some shows. Trouble truely loves him, and so do I.

  • I heard this on the news yesterday...

CalTrans (the highway road maintenance dept - for those not form California) will be closing 4 of the lanes on I-15 from Devore to I-215 starting Sept 13, for repair work for 6 weeks. This is so they can do "around the clock" road repairs. If they did their traditional, "at night" only repair work, the repairs would take 8 months instead of the predicted 6 weeks.

So this will make a bad traffic situation even worse.

Here's the full story from http://www.fox11la.com/home/

"Caltrans to test new freeway repair schedule on Interstate 15

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- CalTrans plans to repair Southern California's freeways under a test project that would reduce construction time but create gridlock.

Instead of the typical nighttime rebuilding schedule that closes one or two lanes, crews would work around the clock and shut down half the freeway.

Drivers would face traffic, but the repairs would be finished much faster.

CalTrans plans to test the idea next month on Interstate 15 near Devore. Eight lanes will be diverted onto four lanes for four days a week, for about six weeks. The project is expected to add more than 90 minutes to the average rush-hour commute.

Caltrans says the old system, where workers spread a fresh layer of asphalt on the top, is simply not enough.

The new construction job allows workers to rebuild crumbling pavements with a high-grade concrete that will last at least 30 years.

(Copyright 2004 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)"

But if I can score tickets down front I will be going, bad traffic or not.
It took us 2 hours to exit the venue last year because of the traffic.
