  • If it's at Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen, I'll pass.
That place is too huge to see anything decently unless you are right up front.

I was there for the Cure last year..it was an awful experience.

  • Is this for real? Has there been confirmation from Kroq?

True friends stab you in the front.
  • the glen helen is the worse possible place to see moz. ive been in the lawn section of that place and the band even looks small from the video screens! much less your own eyes. i hope this news isnt true and he plays somewhere smaller.

  • Glen Helen is a large outdoor venue in San Bernardino, which held over 65,000 people during last year's Inland Invasion, and is worth attending. I always find my way into the pit at the Glen and my, what a sight it would be to see Morrissey headline such a massive festival concert in the states.

  • This rumor is probably true, but unless they have other strong acts, this show is going to bomb in ticket sales because most of us would rather go see him in Santa Barbara, Arizona, Las Vegas etc.

Morrissey should stick to his own shows and stay away from festivals in America because they seem to not go through.

How about KROQ do a British Invasion Tour? Bring back all those great britpop bands from the 90's.

  • It would have been so awsome if he did KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmass.

  • I was there last year when the Cure was the headlining act......boy did they suck. I could just bare to watch about 3 to 4 songs before I split. And I was convinced I loved the Cure before that...Turns out it was only a fad. Robert Smith is very, very bland live. Morrissey on the other hand would be fantastic to say the least. If this is confirmed, I am soooo there!! Its a great place for a festival if you get great seats, but if you get stuck with lawn seats, then I don't blame you. Those seats really suck!!

  • I heard last year that KROQ was working on getting Johny Marr and Morrissey together to headline the 2004 Inland Invasion. The rumours are starting to really heat up now!

Last year's "Flashback to the Future" was INCREDIBLE:

    BUD LIGHT SIDE STAGE
    1:00- Jet - missed them

1:50- Dramarama- missed them- but saw them a few weeks before and they ROCKED!

2:40- Kings Of Leon- missed them

3:30- Berlin- saw a few songs- I have seen them a few times before- good stuff

    MAIN STAGE
2:15- General Public - EXCELLENT! We went all the way to the front row for this as people were slowly arriving. Dave Wakeling was in SUPERB form playing all his English Beat hits as well!

2:45- Dashboard Confessional- my friend Valerie liked them a lot more than I did.... he is compared to Morrissey in his lyrics but the band sounds nothing like the Smiths/Moz ... but they do have a good sound

3:15- Bow Wow Wow - the lead singer looks PHENOMENAL 20 years later.. but then again- she was only 15 when they started in the early 80's... they were GREAT

3:45- Fountains Of Wayne - skipeed them and watched Berlin and checked out all the booths and walked the Lawn looking for friends. They sounded okay from the lawn.

4:15- Mark Almond of Soft Cell- snuck my friend Sheryl in from her seat in the LOGE to our Orchestra section and got all the way up to front- she worships him- and he was in fine form!

4:45- Interpol- stayed up front for them- great sound

5:20- Psychedelic Furs - Valerie's fave band... stayed up front- AWESOME

6:00- Violent Femmes- during their set I snuck in a few more friends from the LOGE (Richard and Greg) . The Femmes sounded fantastic

6:40- Echo and the Bunnymen- this was the last band we snuck to the front for- and they ROCKED!!! But finally our luck ran out and we had to move back to our real seats about 20 rows back (still EXCELLENT seats) for the final song of the Bunnymen. So we had 5 people in 2 seats heheheh. Ian McCullough was a riot chain-smoking through the whole set and procaliming they were the best f*cking band on the planet

7:20- Hot Hot Heat- I only knew 2 songs but the rest of their stuff was good- but a bit redundant. Using Shery's cell phone I tried to get our friends Garret and his date and friends up to the LOGE section using Sheryl's old tix (and possibly even sneaking to Orchestra) but they decided to stay on the Lawn.

8:00- Duran Duran- Wow. These guys were in TOP form... They easily were the stars of the night and put on the best show.

9:35- The Cure- We left halfway through the set as Robert Smith played like 8 BORING new songs in a row that nobody knew... The old hits they played were GREAT but we were ready to bail...

All in all: a FANTSTIC day in the desert!!

    Cheers,

    Jay

  • I went to the KROQ's Inland Invasion last year when the Cure headlined and it was very cool. Does anybody know who else will be at this years show besides Morrissey and will it be a show like last year with bands from the earlier years at KROQ......
