An anonymous person writes:
Marianne Faithfull was interviewed by Andrew Marr on the AM Show this morning on BBC1 - he asked her about 'turning down Morrissey' and she said he had called her up when they were both living in Ireland. She was quite vague but it seemed it was for a joint interview but having writing commitments at the time she said she couldn't be bothered to go to Dublin, and said no.

On the BBC's Andrew Marr show, she said her comeback collaborations with artists like Jarvis Cocker and Nick Cave were "great fun", and explained the truth behind the rumour that she turned down Morrissey.

She knows Morrissey is fond of her music, I donno
      likewise

but Idare to write yes, she covered a ROTT song
for her last release, which were all [or lots]
of covers, but they released it, and Morrissey
wasn't on it, after checking Ifound out, there is a deluxe 3 CD version, whivh I still waiting for to arrive at the record shop

the album is called something like

easy stay, easy go [or something like that]

She's an Icon, like Patti Smith

so if you don't go down in music history, don't
      post lame comments

She only talked about it for a minute - what she said was that they were both in Ireland at the time and he called her up and wanted to meet, but it would have been in Dublin and she was working somewhere else and didn't feel like going to Dublin. She also said something about how "it would have been some celebrity thing" (not a direct quote, I'm paraphrasing) and implied that she wasn't into that at that moment. My impression was that maybe it would have been something more structured than just meeting for a cup of tea or whatnot and that she was just busy with other things at the moment.

It's not a great film but it's fun to watch.
