  • Why do all of these charmless, no talent bores have to go and smear our hero by mentioning his name constantly? I don't really care if they genuinely like him...if they were actually influenced by him in any meaningful way they wouldn't go and record worthless "emo" tripe. Wow, he says he is influenced by Oscar Wilde as well...how creative.

  • Wow, I've always considered the Morrissey-solo community to be full of bright, unique individuals with intelligent things to say. But this is just so disheartening. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to put down such a talented, respectable artist is just shameful on your part. I'll attribute it to the fact that most of you have failed to take note of what Davey Havok has contributed to the current state of music. If you don't see him for the great lyricist that he is, you are completely devoid of any ability to appreciate art.

His style of songwriting has a painfully obvious Morrissey influence. But please, for the love of all that is worthy and just, do NOT associate this artist with the mindless fools that pretend to pass off as legitimate songwriters and those other countless idiots that fail to know what being a true Moz fan is all about.

You don't have to like AFI. You don't have to like Davey Havok himself. But please, recognize talent where it is deserved and don't create excuses for yourselves by passing with a petty "he's just trash" comment.

I know it's difficult these days to try and find music that has any bit of substance, depth and/or meaning. We're inundated with mindless corporate crap. Just know that if you're passing up someone like Davey Havok, you're passing up the chance to reinstate faith in musical territory.
