Art Brut (London band famous for Formed A Band) released their third single, "Emily Kane", on Monday (2nd May) and on it is the B-Side "About Time".

The opening line "There was a time when I couldn't stomach Morrissey" and goes on to "I hope this doesn't cause offence, but I think its time you forgave your parents, I've nothing to say in their defence, but I think its time you forgave your parents."

A really touching song, nearly brought a tear to my eye.

Check it out, its nice

  • Morrissey is no one without parent-centered anger. But he looks good in denim! Grrr...

  • They also mention Morrissey in their song "Moving To LA". Art Brut are one of the most interesting new bands of the past 12 months.

  • I've actually heard this song. It is astoundingly crap. They sound like a bunch of students who just formed down the campus bar and all took out their how to play guitar/bass/drums books one week before recording.

  • I've seen them live (in support of Luke Haines) and they were awesome. Great performers. The lead singer is very charismatic and they are extremely interesting lyrically.

a kind of outsider quality to their stuff. Emily Kane is a great single.

  • Not much gets me excited (musically) these days, but, I saw this lot on MTV2 with 'Formed a Band', so I went to see them live in a little local club.

Fantastic energy, attitude, wit and a raw stripped down sound.

Combine that with a frontman, Eddie Argos(!), who had me laughing/enjoying his shirt ripping performance almost as much as the first time I saw Moz on TOTP, all of those years ago.

Catch them now, close up, 'cos, he/they will be MASSIVE.

  • I'm not sure about this effort to psychoanalyse the Moz stereotype, maybe meant in jest, but seems a bit lazy. Still the fact that artists are incorporating reflections from him into their own work supports the claim that he has become an iconic inspiration.

  • first time I heard art brut I thought they were pretty crap (but then I felt the same way about moz..)

after seeing them a few times and knowing their songs better I must say that (along with the magic numbers & the pipettes) they are defintely one of the most promising bands from london..

see them live if you get the chance!

  • What relationship he's got with his parents?

I'm so glad I'm not famous. It must be really tedious having idiots pontificating on aspects of your life they haven't got a clue about.

  • That'll be the last time I post anything on here. The majority of you are all arrogant and stuck up and I'm annoyed that I have something in common with you.

    Grow up
