  • Already fiercely denied by Morrissey's representatives. Would be fabulous (they could collaborate on new material without Rourke and Joyce - yes, please!!!!) but isn't going to happen in a million years. The rumour mill should now desist.

  • this quote is priceless:

If Marr does play on the curmudgeonly one's current tour you'll eat your words, and your hat, and maybe even a tramp's pants! Because the word is the pair have been talking again!

My love, wherever you are, Whatever you are...Don't lose faith...I know it's gonna happen someday...
  • haven't there been a number of occasions where they have talked in the years since the smiths? both have said so in interviews and that they see no need to reform...so obviously play louder is full of something. i'll keep it clean.

  • It wouldn't be a The Smiths reunion. The rhythm section was an integral part of The Smiths sound.

It would be something old, and something new, but not The Smiths.

  • What does Morrissey actually gain from a Smiths reunion? He's probably having one of the happiest times that he's had in a long time. He's not gonna do it just because some of his fans want it,is he now?

  • Completely, abso-fucking-lutely, 110% agree. I never got to see them, and I hope that I never will. Obviously, I can't lie..... I would go if it happened(as I am sure everyone here would), but the thought of it sorta makes me ill. It's like with The Pixies. They were such an important band to me back in the day, and one of the best live acts I ever saw, but this re-union is kinda sad and troll IMO. I am not seeing any of their shows, because I know in some small way, I will only be disappointed, as I am with most re-unions I have seen(except Bauhaus). The reason mainly being, well.....because it's not 1990 anymore. I'd rather keep my fond memories of seeing The Pixies live 11-12 years ago, than seeing them 400 lbs heavier in 2004.
