  • Kill uncle tour "only UK date" Wembley arena. I buy a ticket and Liverpool is announced after wembely sells out. I am 19 years old and trek all the way to london alone to see my hero when all my mates who were not as fanatical and were not that bothered get to go to a gig on my doorstep and it was not a gig that fell on its backside because of poor sound!

Midland festival Battersea power station, only gig that year, until i bought a ticket and then as if by magic after i buy a ticket Chester gets announced for the following day! So off to London again whilst my less fanatical friends get to go to the Chester gig, again on my doorstep and the power station as a venue is lacking in a lot, Chester on the other hand was apparently breathtaking.

Now Blackpool and yet again Liverpool announced. How many times am I going to get gigs on my doorstep announced after I have bought tickets for alternative gigs that are miles away! Will Blackpool now be crap and Liverpool be stunning, or will god do me the favour of making my less fanatical friends suffer for once and give me the gig of the tour?

Good god Moz, there must be a better way to plan a tour than this, help us all out here please as my finances are stretched as it is and i am not sure i can stretch to a 4th gig this year.

Whatever happens though......we love you, so we must be insane!

  • Newcastle City Hall is a bit of a crap venue, I saw Paul Weller and Pulp there and there was no atmosphere, its all seated and they stewards are really strict and enforce a no dancing policy, infact most people sit down. Add this to the fact that I dont know a single other Moz fan in Newcastle (its hardly music loving territory up here) and this might be an interestingly subdued gig, I cant really believe Morrissey is playing their to be honest, he'd get a much better reception and atmosphere at the Student Union. Oh well I shallnt be able to go anyway as I would have moved to Manchester by then, but I shall look forward to the reports with awe as I really dont think its the sort of venue Moz should play in Newcastle.

My plans (and my friends) for Blackpool have now gone out of the window as she can only go to one date and I have no where to stay!
I'll be trying for Liverpool tickets (this is on said friends birthday) whenever they go onsale.
Does anyone know what the venue is like? Capacity?

  • Do not rush to buy tickets. Wait til all the gigs are announced. There might be one nearer you.
Moz has a fanatical but fairly small fanbase. You will easily get tickets for your local venue, even if it has sold out. Do not buy off the greedy Moz-hating bastards on E-bay! Touts will struggle to get face-value during the hour or two before Moz goes on stage even if they go for £100 + on e-bay.
Moz is doing loads of gigs in the UK this year, when you include the festivals. I guarantee he will venture further south. He is being a little bit naughty by announcing these dates bit by bit. His fanbase is not anywhere near as big as McCartney's, Coldplay's, or Oasis's. His fanbase is devoted but pretty small.
Trust me on this! (I got a return ticket for Meltdown incredibly easily off the box office).

  • Yipee - what amazing news! Our Liverpool banner with "There is A light That Never Goes Out" emblazoned on it will appear in its home town venue for the big Morrissey gig!!!! Wow - maybe Moz meeting the Bootle Bruisers the other month at the Lowry Hotel inspired him to return to our fine city. He played teh venue in 1999. A Truly amazing show. royal court holds 2,500 people. Around 1,200 standing tickets. A very intimate venue really - great atmosphere guaranteed.

  • Morrissey in Newcastle, should be amazing. I went to the MEN gig and thought it would be my only chance to see Moz, not being too fond of festivals and also being a bit poor, so I`m pretty excited to be seeing the great man in my hometown.

I do sympathise for those who live in Europe, Mexico, Australia, Japan etc who haven`t been able to see Mozzer recently.

You can fly to Newcastle pretty cheaply on easyjet from Berlin, Paris and Prague.

  • I'm trying to buy a seated ticket for Preston but it doesn't tell you what seat it is! Do all the best seats (ie front few rows of the circle) get sold in the pre-sale or am I best hanging on til I can phone the venue or book seats via a website that tells you where you'll be seated? I don't think Preston Guildhall is a venue where the seating isn't allocated, is it? The only reason I'm going for a seated ticket is that I can't queue early so I want a guaranteed decent-ish seat.
