  • Is he having a laugh? I 'm starting to get sick of him now. Why doesn't he just do a tour of all the British Legion clubs and be done with it. I wish he'd go and tour the US like they want him to. Four times in a year is plenty for me, hope you enjoy the shows!

Why doesn't he just play venues where people have a chance to actually see him?

    They are an exceptional band.

Also, once again I cannot believe he is not playing the Glasgow Barrowlands. It's like we've slipped through a time-warp back to 1983 when a couple of hundred people squeezed into the Glasgow QMU to see noted new beat combo The Smiths.
Morrissey knows that he creates a special and unique atmosphere at the Barras, it's been the home of some of his most triumphant gigs, stretching right back to 1984.

And it's easier to get to than bloody Paisely Town Hall.

It seems like they keep dropping dates completely randomly which to me is totally absurd, could it be for budget reasons? when 4 were announced - then a whole flood of U.K. dates came.
he mainly did town / city halls, the odd theatre etc those size of shows.
The show i saw in 1999 was just under 950 and it was the best.

  • I've managed to get myself a couple of tickets to the Blackpool date, which I am very pleased about... especially now it has sold out.

Out of idle curiosity, I popped over to Ebay, and I don't know why it shocks me that there are already so many tickets for these shows on there, but it does. There are some listings on there that have 7 days to go, and they are starting the bidding at £85 for a pair of tickets. That's at least £20 profit before any bidding has started.

This is profiteering at the expense of the fan (and I would guess that it is in this case profiteering BY the fans, given that this was a presales link). I have a friend who just tried to buy a couple of tickets and can't - her only option now looks like going to one of these scum who deliberately bought more than they need just to make a bit of cash.

I don't have a gripe with the mechanism per se, because it happens that you end up with tickets that you don't need. I just think it's awful that human nature seems to mean that we try and screw each other to the floor.

You can cry market forces if you want, and you can say that people only pay what they think they are worth. I still say shame. There are genuine fans out there who will not be at this gig because of this.

  • All, please learn a lesson from your Uncle John!
Morrissey is quite popular these days but not hugely so. He didn't sell out Move despite it being in his home time. It was very easy to get 'returns' for the Festival Hall shows. I should know: I did!
Because Moz is playing so much this year, you will easily get a ticket off a tout and, as long as you don't panic, and wait til about 15-30 mins before Moz comes on you'll get it at face value or less. Trust me on this.
The people that buy to sell immediately on E-bay are cowards and deserve 100 times more contempt than conventional ticket touts. Do not buy their tickets (unless they're seeling them at face value). I guarantee you will be able to get a cheaper one on the night.
