Taken from BDB's site:
SECRET GIG

Monday 4th June saw Damon perform a secret gig at the Social in London. The audience was a combination of people from XL Recordings, Beggars, Twisted Nerve and other friends all invited by Damon as a 'thank you' and to celebrate his new publishing deal.

The acoustic set lasted over an hour with a selection of favourites from the last three years, a couple of cover versions (Let The Sun Shine, The Smiths' Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want) and one new track.

He's about to start work on new tracks for the two TN compilations and his new album. Damon won't be doing any festivals this year, and is unlikely to be doing any tours for the rest of the year because of this.

    He's a star isn't he?

He's been playing smiths songs since the year dot I believe. At one of the first gigs he played, he did Oscillate Wildly... well the first bit of it anyway.

It's a shame, in the UK press lately he has been getting a bit of a backlash, but I'm sure he'll be back with another beautiful record.

    The Bolton boy done good.

  • For once an artist deserves the shizophrenic UK press' backlash. Badly Drawn Boy acts like a complete jerk when he plays live. He's awful. He should go watch the Doves play live in order to remind himself that when the music comes before the artist, the results are often times heartachingly gorgeous. BDB created one of the best albums of 2000 then negated it by playing over a year's worth of pointlessly vulgar gigs.

I'd rather go to an Aaron Carter show than watch BDB wipe his crotch with a towel one more time.
