The music in the background in Eastenders always seems to be chosen to suit the scene. So as you say, its no wonder Morrissey and his old band feature!

I believe it's from The Smiths' last-ever gig at Brixton Academy, 12th December 1986.

There's some links to some of the songs played that night on YouTube. I'm not sure which song the video is from.
