Don't know the kid but the programme was "Eurotube" - a marathon version of Tyne Tees (England) music show "The Tube"

As a failed actor myself i can throw some light on this. His name was Carl Lightfoot(honestly)!!he was plucked for his appearance on the Tube from a local theatrical school in Newcastle.he went on to make fleeting appearances on "grange hill" and "biker grove"( which is where i got to know him).It is no secret that he went on to develop a rather horrendous narcotic problem.he relocated to the Edinburgh area and did in fact have a bit part in a new play at this years Fringe.

Apparently he said Morrissey was very nieve to him and gave him a signed tambourine!! i did try to get him to appear at a Smiths convention but he was rather "unwell" at the time,

i know but for the life of me cant remember i have a reference for him on one of my bboks at home i will find out for you

Ahem....unwell, yeah?? Ok thanks - is he a nice guy? he did look cute back then but I couldn't help but notice that his singing wasn't too impressive. I envy him though for Moz patting his head at the end of the performance.
