Spectator USA: "Human after all" by John Waters (August 5, 2020)

The evidence isn't overwhelming - & how could it be worse than the fights Europe has had over borders, resources, religion, politics? How could it be worse than the Reformation, the French Revolution, the first world war, the second world war & the cold war?

Cultures don't spring up fully formed - they're pretty robust.

There are lifestyle changes to do with the free market economy & post-structuralism does make everything feel more unstable than it needs to be... plus civil rights claims have a tendency to annoy people esp if they feel their own needs are neglected - people violently hated feminism & look at the state it's in.

There's no need to panic about migrants or knife crime or think the roof is caving in because of visible difference - it's the same old. It'll be something else in 30 years time.

Moz actually loves all this confrontational stuff - but he seems to have seen some Islamic State beheading videos & had a wobble (which is, to be fair, exactly what those videos are designed to do).

Old panic:

Moral panic? Like this you mean? https://www.dw.com/en/integration-commissioner-plans-a-multicultural-germany/a-37546826

Because it destroys the host culture. It's pretty obvious.

No, it doesn't. It gets absorbed into the 'host' culture - which changes because everything does.

The biggest cultural changes are caused by tech & mass media.

Yeah, who cares about knife crime? It's just black kids after all.

There's no need to panic.................just accept it...........like Merkal cuz knife crimes and rapes and terrorism are all good for us. That's the general gist isnt it?

Oh you mean by having white kids pretend to be black....is that what you mean?

Brings a tear to the eye.

I will always remember going to see the Libertines at the Kentish Town Forum - 2003 I think it was - the support was Chas and Dave. Great night. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Because it was better then. In almost every single regard.
I disagree. It was quite different but if you think it was better 'in almost every single regard' I'm afraid you are viewing it through nostalgia-tinted spectacles.

Yes.

Ffs - all they're doing is discussing rights & resources.

Like the corn laws or universal suffrage. 🙄

Are you out of your mind? Thats a paper by an immigrant mind, about the cultural and racial destruction of a country. That's not just nothing. That is the Kalargi plan in plain English.

Hey @Stephen Hofmann, which particular aspects of British culture that you enjoyed as a child are you now forbidden or prevented from enjoying entirely or mainly because of immigration?

You're out of your mind believing an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

How is life so much better now, other than through technology and medicine? Is music better? Are kids lives better? Can they play out till 9 in the evening safely? Are families and communities just as strong? Is tv better? Do people get on better? Is sport better? Is the cost of living cheaper?
