i can't believe things such as computers are built to trifle with emotions, but they are.

I got an email from some website informing me that someone had a crush on me, and I could find out by logging onto their computer. I duly cut and pasted the web address to see what these people were on about.

I get there, and this website, sponsored by 1-800 flowers, greeting cards, and other companies with gooey-eyed ways of showing the person you love by buying them something expensive, had informed me that I could not find out who this person is until I submitted the email address of everyone I know and if I lucked out and happened to send them the "correct" email address,only then will it match us up. In our new-found love, we will share the joys of being spammed equally and passionately.

What a way to show someone you care!

I'll bet my crush is someone named "Ted" who is the marketing guru who discovered my strange ramblings posted on a newsgroup and was instantly besotted by my email address. although has never met me, he and his company love my wallet with such burning passion that it should make some around here jealous!

Ted, I'll mail you $20 if you'd reveal yourself. You don't need any kickbacks from 1-800-FLOWERS to show your love for me. Think about it. I can't guess your email address, and you are only slowing down the chance for 'us'. I'm desperate...You're desperate...we were meant for one another.
