Can't listen to music at work but at home I have 'Songs to save your life'. It really is an excellent compilation - perhaps the best. I skip over the Ordinary Boys' track however. The James Maker track is especially good. The Killers sounds a bit 'Euro Rock' but OK as a livener. The Slits are a revelation to me -and after what Peel has said about them I must now track down their Strange Fruits records. I have grown to like the Damien Dempsey track too. By 'eck Morrissey, you did well with those selections.

The Slits Peel Sessions album is wonderfully shambolic, the tracks which feature on it are from The Cut era, but they certaily aren't as polished as on the album. Having said that it wouldn't feature in my Top 10 Peel Sessions.

Best place to track it down is on Ebay, the Strange Fruit albums have all been deleted for a while now.
