just so I could make an intermission tape to play before going on stage. What songs would you put on yours? Just 13 or so like Moz usually does. These are not really my "Favorite" songs by any means, just songs I would like people to listen to while waiting/being crushed, etc......

"New Rose"-The Damned
"Love In A Void"-Siouxsie
"She Was Born To Be My Unicorn"T-Rex
"Tone Burst(Country)"-Stereolab
"Scooby Driver"-Belle&Sebastian
"All Mine"-Portishead
"White Light/White Heat"-Velvet Underground
"Jeane"-The Smiths
"Days Before You Came"-Placebo
"So Messed Up"-The Damned
"Rye Whiskey"-Tex Ritter
"Street Spirit"-Radiohead
"Llorando"-Rebekah Del Rio

"Dry the Rain" - The Beta Band
"Ever Fallen In Love" - Buzzcocks
"Godless" - Dandy Warhols
"The Hunter" - Armageddon Dildos
"Hot, Hot, Hot" - The Cure
"Lucrecia My Reflection" - Sisters of Mercy
"New Kinda Kick" - The Cramps
"Haunted (When the Minutes Drag)" - Love & Rockets
"Valentino" - Tagging Satellites
"I'll Fall With Your Knife" - Peter Murphy
"Sparks Are Gonna Fly" - The Catherine Wheel
"Warm Leatherette" - The Normal
"Song To the Siren" - This Mortal Coil

(leaving out Moz because if it were up to me I'd probably play all Moz and that wouldn't make for a very interesting list. )

D'oh! Bad Tori fan ... bad!

Maybe I could throw "Precious Things" into the mix?

Now SIT your ass down!

Not only a great intermission tape, but also a nice cd for long drives in the car...

Ave Maria - The Carpenters
50 Ways To Leave Your Lover - Paul Simon
Save Me - Aimee Mann
Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
Jack The Ripper - Morrissey
Ease Your Feet In The Sea - Belle & Sebastian
Joga - Bjork
The Sky Lit Up - PJ Harvey
Leaving On A Jet Plane - Bjork with PJ Harvey
In A Manner Of Speaking - Martin Gore
Jupiter Crash - The Cure
The Speed Of Pain - Marilyn Manson
Lull-A-Bye - The Apex Theory

TORI?!?!? OH PLEASE!

Why have Tori f*cking Amos when you can have the original, proper, undiluted one - Kate Bush.
Tori Amos my arse.

*yawn*

P.S Kate Bush makes my ears bleed -- THAT'S WHY.

Tori Pines is a street at La Jolla, California

I tried to appreciate Kate Bush (Hounds of Love etc..), and I just could not. Friends told me I'm supposed to love her, yet she bored me, her voice was too melodramatic, too shrieking for my delicate psycho... LOL

Tori Amos, she, her voice, both her vocals and her piano, plus her breathing and slight Southern drawl and affectations of her speech & singing... it all really stroked that certain part of my mind, responsible for pleasure... That's why music tastes are so subjective... I would not argue, that Tori learned a thing or two from Kate Bush. I just happen, subjectively, to like everything about style of thinging of say Tori Amos and Loreen McKennit, yet I don't care much about Kate Bush, who may be not so far from Tori idea-wise, and I'm kind of indifferent to Sinead O'Connor, even if she occupies the same Celtic musical territory as Loreen.

....but I always think the original is better.

To say Tori Amos learned a thing or two from Kate bUush is like saying Gene were vaguely similar to the Smiths - there's a difference in influence and rip off.

Little Earthquakes was a far better album when it was called The Kick Inside, some 20 years previous.

She even copied the sleeve!

And I just couldn't trust a woman with hair that dyed-out and straggly.....
