Does anybody really know what Morrissey ys talking about in the song SPEEDWAY?
I think he is talking about England.

In the book "Morrissey and His Songs," He basically just says that he was writing about a friend and how he wasn't trying to cover up his mistakes, lies, etc., but that it didn't meant that he wanted to hurt the other person. It wasn't about England, per se, but about an adult friend he met at the Boots at the Stretford Arndale.
