Could Marr and Morrissey Meet up in NYC?

It's only about a 45 minute drive from Montclair, NJ, where Johnny Marr is playing on May 1st, to Midtown Manhattan. Assuming he's still in town, does anyone think it's possible that Marr pays Morrissey a visit on his Broadway opening night? Maybe takes the stage(!)? It's an open date for Marr with no gig until the following night. By the same token, you think Morrissey drops in on Marr on the 1st? Why not? Please, please, please make it happen!

The Smiths is dead, like this website. There is no point. Morrissey was The Smiths and he is better solo. Johnny ain't all that. Please move on. You are ill. Marr blew it when he walked away and Joyce buried it when he sued. Mando is better than Andy. Why can't you understand this? Morrissey is OK By HIMSELF. Just drop it.

It's highly unlikely, but hope springs eternal.

A gig reunion will never happen...

But a few drinks in a bar or backstage? I can see that.

On another note, Johnny Marr has said a friend from New York is opening one of his East Coast shows. Andy Rourke lives in New York and has a new band called Blitz Vega.

They have probably been geographically close to each other on many occasions in recent years , presumably including in Manchester

GAME OF DEATH.
why, they probably have zero in common anymore apart from the smiths back catalogue which if it was business would probably be done by email.i wouldn't want to meet somebody I worked with thirty years ago, conversation would be torture.

Indeed.

The idea that JM would want anything to do with the forever tarnished Morrissey is laughable.

Hardly, they have nothing in common, other than once being in a band together, some 30 odd years ago. I’d imagine having a drink together would be rather awkward. Marr strongly opposes everything Morrissey stands for, politically speaking anyway. How can you sit down face to face with someone and play nice when you inwardly know the other dude has been acting like a tool.

Morrissey will always be bigger and more important of an artist then JM will ever be. Morrissey is a proud Englishman who loves his country. The only British artist with the balls to speak truth regardless of consequences. Irish blood, English heart

Morrissey has been acting like a tool (and saying completely ridiculous, inflammatory things) since 1982. Johnny is probably well-versed in his media histrionics by now and I'm sure he knows Moz a lot better than we do.
